No flowing lava here. Just stinky sulphur and bubbling mud. But it's interesting and the museum is a break from the heat with an informative video and displays.

Very interesting stop. The stench from the sulphur is pretty strong. But the guide who walked us around the area was incredibly knowledgeable. Great stories to tell and watching the pools bubble and pit up has was pretty neat.

The bath experience was fun. Luckily, we arrived relatively early in the morning so there were not too many people there already. Later it got very crowded, and as there are only three changerooms (that are a bit dark and unpleasant) I imagine things could...More

Not a long tour, as we didn't do the mud bath!, but instead there was a guided tour of the volcano and an explanation of the history of the site. We also got to see mangos and cashews growing - the cashews were a first...More

I was picturing driving into or through the volcano. And I guess "technically" you kind of do, but the picture I had in my head of what it would be is very different than the experience. I would still recommend going. The tour was interesting...More

We took a tour, so our guide took us right to the entrance without waiting in line or to park. Very busy place in a somewhat confined area. There are lockers to stash your belongings but we just had one from our party sit with...More

Great view from the top where you can see the steam and the boiling mud bubbles coming from the ground. It's amazing. After the visit we went for the mud bath. Fortunately at the time we arrived there were few people and we were not...More

Really neat experience, although completely rammed with people for such a small area! The experience of being covered in mud is like no other! Make sure you dont rinse the mud off with water after bathing, my skin has never felt so soft! The temperature...More

The bus ride was twisty and curvy as described and we had a couple of stops along the way, making the trip to the mud bath about 3 hours. There was rain, intermittently, being in the rain forest. Once there, it was sunny and beautiful....More

There are a couple of showers to rinse. Need to bring your own towel. You rinse first in the warm bathes.
