Very Enjoyable, great enthusiasm, Jo-Anne and Chuck great hosts. Enjoyed the authentic details and accessories brought back from the original Little Lucian school. This evening was a preview of courses JoAnne is planning to do in her BC location NOT in the Caribbean, well worth attending.

I loved the entire authentic experience from the Caribbean natural bowls, spoons, coconut cups to the variety of food and drinks we tasted. My 2 favorites were the Cacao tea and the dessert ...the most delicious chocolate cake I've ever had, topped with Banana Caramel and fresh Mango...and I won't spoil the finale on how she puts it all together...you'll have to go to find out. :) Oh what a way to end the evening. Joanne's obvious passion for cooking combined with her sense of humour and knowledge inspired me to want to try these recipes at home...now that's a miracle! :) Truly an enjoyable and fun time!

Jo-Anne Schultz is a great cook - no doubt about that. But it's her passion that takes her classes to the next level. So much experience to draw on, and the inclusion of a Jamaican family to add their own input to the experiences Jo-Anne has had in Santa Lucia was quite wonderful. If you have an chance to attend one of these classes, don't hesitate.

We have experienced many food trips/cooking experiences over the years but this by far is top of the list! I If we hadn't been eavesdropping we wouldn't have found this little gem. The cookery school is less then a ten minute taxi from The Halcyon Sandals hotel and the activity only lasts three hours. If you are hoping for induction hobs, food processors and an air conditioned kitchen then this is not for you. This activity was as real as it could get! Matilda is 72yrs old and a grandmother to 21. Her daughter Mary assists her and between them you are transported to "real St Lucia". The stove is a clay pot on coals and the oven that they use to bake coconut cakes is a large saucepan. Our day started with cocoa tea and coconut cakes. We then learnt about the local spices, fruits and vegetables before we helped prepare fish cakes. The main course was cooked in clay pots on coals which, I've no doubt added to the incredible flavour of the food. Our bowls, spoons and cups were all made from coconut shells or from the Calabash tree. The kitchen area is in Matilda's garden, which we were fortunate to have a tour of before leaving. If you like food and want to get away from tourist areas then go here, it was a wonderful experience. Thank you to all at the Little Lucian for a fabulous day.

We had an exceptional time at the Little Lucian Cooking School. Cooking authentic food the authentic way - and then getting to eat the fruits of your labor. A must see for anyone visiting St. Lucia. Glenn
