Sea Trek St. Maarten is a 2 ½ hour tour excursion that runs several times daily. The tour starts with a 5 minute walk from the gangway to the water taxi pier and a 10 minute boat ride out to our staging area. Once on board the Sea Trek dock your guide will give a safety briefing and will answer any questions that you may have. The underwater trek itself takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete; based on the number of guests participating in that particular tour, 2 separate tours may be made. Each tour will have no more than 10 guests and will have a minimum of 3 Sea Trek staff members with the tour at all times as a safety precaution. If there are 2 groups participating in the tour, while one group is underwater the other guests are offered the opportunity to go for a snorkel while they wait. Once both groups have completed the Sea Trek tour there will be an opportunity to buy photos taken of you on the trek before boarding the boat and getting shuttled back to the cruise ship pier or the main land.Helmet diving feeds continuous air through low pressure lines on the surface down to the Sea Trekker under water. The air pressure inside the helmet keeps the water level right around shoulder height and the majority of the time you won’t even get your hair wet. You climb down a ladder from the Sea Trek dock that reaches 20 feet down to the ocean floor. The track, a loop approximately 300 feet long, takes you past both natural and artificial reefs such as a helicopter, a plane, a submarine, King Neptune and 2 canons salvaged from Fort Amsterdam. You’ll be also invited to interact with some of the local sea creatures along the way. Once back to the beginning of the track loop you climb the ladder back onto the dock while personally lead both up and down the ladder by a guide or safety diver.Min 8 yrs. and able to walk and climb a ladder. You have to be in good physical condition and sign a waiver. This tour is not recommended for guests with physical disabilities, a pacemaker, severe asthma, claustrophobia or for women over 3 months pregnant. Max depth is 20 feet. There are tee shirts, sodas and bottled water available for purchase after the tour – cash only please. No rest room available at the platform. No secured lockers available.

This is as close as you can get to diving without the uncomfortable gear. I have a tough time with scuba because of the equipment and gear - Sea Trek allows you to breathe normally. It was a good excision for my 2 boys for them to have the experience and decide they want to go for their scuba certifications.... More

Four of us took part in the underwater walk. We are all in our 50's and had no problems. We also all wear prescription glasses and have never been able to snorkel unless we want to have prescription goggles made. These helmets allowed our glasses to remain on which was awesome. The helmets are a bit heavy but once in... More

This was one of the best experiences ever. It can be a tad scary at first, but go for it. Walking on the bottom of the ocean with highly trained and experienced people was amazing. The owners Bobbie and Whitney make you feel safe and they're incredibly nice and fun. Please take the plunge and go for it. Then have... More

I am not a strong swimmer and the idea of going under water is not something I would normally think of doing. But once I got that out of my system and relaxed I had a great experience. The divers escort you through the course and help you experience the environment by pointing out allowing you to handle some of... More

This had a great view. The water was so clear and beautiful. Colorful fish, amazing visibility. Just like walking around in a perfect setting. Good for younger ones and non divers. There are also scuba divers around, from nearby boats. Not close, but vicinity. You don't feel like you're alone. It is way better than you could imagine. Even if... More

Had a blast with Sea Trek St. Maarten with my cousin! We did the package, and it's so worth it. The crew is super nice, as well as the Captain of the Sea Taxi we had Sammy and Avery on the way over! It's really easy to find, right in Bobby's Marina. You get complimentary Fruit Punch or Rhum Punch... More

We took my 9 year old son and my grand parents on a crusie and did this excursion. My grand parents just watched. My son absolutely loved it. He also enjoyed snorkeling, as you also get to snorkel also. Great staff and such a fun experience! We would do it again for sure!

We saw this in the cruise excursion guide and it looked interesting, so we booked it. It ended up being absolutely amazing. You put on the helmet, go down the ladder to the sea floor, and get a guided tour around some underwater wrecks with hundreds of fish swimming around you. Bring an underwater camera if you can! The staff... More
