We used Smith's boat services to get us from St. Thomas to Tortola, we flew into St. Thomas and we were staying in Tortola. We purchased our tickets in advance (received a discount), I've heard that you should call in advance to make sure they are on time but we didn't have any issues, we arrived well in advance just... Smith's has one (maybe the?) of the fastest ferries from St Thomas to Tortola. Checked bags cost 3 dollars each. You can keep a handbag or knap sack under your seat or on your lap. Smith's also offers taxi services bundled up in the price of ferry fees online. Personally, it didn't work out for me and I ended up... More

After my snorkelling tour to virgin Gorda was canceled, the staff at the sugar mill were so nice to call and find out the ferry schedule to virgin Gorda. Took a taxi into roadtown since he was there already to pick me up for the tour. Arrived in roadtown, bought my tickets and borrowed sugar mill's snorkelling gear. They accept... More

We took a roundtrip ferry from Charlotte Amalie to Tortola.... and were surprised when we showed up for the morning ferry to find out that there were no ferries running to West End Tortola (which is where we were to pick up our rental car) ... not what the schedule said! When we questioned them, they just laughed and said... More

The trip itself was rapid and enjoyable. But on departure from West End, we ran into an obstreperous and uninformed woman who blocked departure on a valid British passport, claiming we needed a visa clearance which, in fact, we did not. It cost us money and time. I'm not giving this a "terrible" only because most visitors will probably have... More

We dealt with Quianna the reservation specialist and arranged all our services before we left Toronto. Quianna was wonderful and made sure we were picked up from the airport and taken to the Ferry.

Great way to get from St.Thomas to Tortola, you can relax outside or inside with a nice cold beer in hand. The view is amazing and the staff have always worn a smile or a offered a helping hand. Like everywhere (airplanes, trains, busses, ferries) your luggage will take a bit of a beating.

We base our ferry choices on who has the most convenient time and have found them all acceptable. We sat below in the air conditioning.

This is the fast ferry, clean, modern and trouble free travels to/from St. Thomas. On returning after a charter, it was the shorted line, and turned out to put us in front of us customers fastest!
