Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovely and accessible place to dine, shop, catch the ferry. Locals and tourists alike seem to enjoy the nicely laid out market area. It's peaceful for a stroll and there is a mix of high end and more affordable shopping. Same with the restaurants. One can take the walking overpass from Seven Mile Beach here with ease. There is a delightful mosaic "tower" that can be accessed via stairs or elevator and is designed so that one traverses from the "bottom" of the sea" to the ocean surface. And then you have the lovely view. Often live music at restaurants.

There wasn’t a lot to do, however the advertisements really pumped it up to be a really nice place to shop, eat and have fun. It wasn’t. Most of the shops that we went to were overpriced. And throwing some clothing designer merchandise into a small store doesn’t make it “the place to shop.” For example, one store was crammed with polo merchandise (of course, overpriced), but it wasn’t appealing. It’s very obvious that they are trying to sell Camana Bay as the place for the discerning and affluent shopper, but the vibe isn’t there. I did not see one person leave the area with a shopping bag and the stores were mainly empty. There was no way I was going to pay for overpriced merchandise based on location. There was a very nice movie theater and the beautiful water of course, makes for the perfect scenery. The actual island is pretty expensive and we definitely added to the beautiful island’s economy during our 8 day stay.

A mixed use real estate development that features lots of retail, restaurants, activities - movies, gyms, etc.- and also residential and business offices. Camana Bay is so well designed! The layout of the buildings creates pathways and courtyards so you find something new around almost every corner. There are design features in the lighting and finishes on the buildings which add to the over feel of playfulness, while still being sophisticated. There are areas where different treatments have been used to create coverings so some areas feel more like outside rooms.
It's worth going to stroll around, shop and then have lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants. You'll find very different experiences depending on what time of day you go.

Camana Bay is one of my favourite places on island. Like anything designed by Dart, the gardens are beautiful and peaceful places to sit and have lunch or coffee. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and it is always pleasant to walk around. The clothes shops are pricey but good for when you want to buy a special gift for someone.
I love the Fosters supermarket as it is well stocked and well organised. We enjoy getting our Waitrose products to remind us of home (the UK).

The Camana Bay complex is a great area to stroll the many shops and has multiple f&b options. The complex is easily reached by taking the bus 3.5 km from Georgetown to West Bay Road, and getting off at either the Tortuga Liquors West Shore or Burger King. Footpaths lead from these areas, over the Esterly Tibbetts Highway, and on to Camana Way, which leads into the complex. There are two footpaths, a north and south, both are 8-10 minutes walk to the complex.
On reaching the complex, there are two main streets which are used for navigation. The Paseo cuts east to west through the complex, and ends at the "Crescent" which is a water fountain where children will often be seen running through the spray, but also offers good photo ops with the sea as a backdrop. To the right of this area is "the island" which includes a pier with boats. A sculpture of "Poof" - the endangered Cayman blue iguana is in this area, and it is a good place to take photos.
Market Street runs north to south through the complex. There are many directories which will aid in navigating your way through the complex. In addition to shopping and f&b, the complex has a cinema, fosters market complex, three major banks, health facility, gym, jewelry store, pharmacies and bookstores. You could spend hours here if you enjoy shopping.

We made several trips to Camana Bay while staying at the Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort. There are a lot of restaurants and stores (bookstore, Starbucks, clothing, home decor, jewelry store) at Camana Bay. It gets busy at night and reservations are needed for dinner at some of the restaurants. The restaurants have outdoor seating which is nice in the evenings. We saw a lot of families here at Camana Bay. Gelato & Co. was our favorite at Camana Bay.

We came on the recommendation of our cab driver and unfortunately we were too late to visit the shops but they looked great. We walked around for a bit and then ate at Misu (not sure of spelling) asian. There were a number of other restaurants - most casual. I would definitely try coming in the late afternoon early evening especially if you would like to shop.

Very disappointing. My friend and I were looking for a store to pick up some average priced clothes. This is not the place. We found only four clothing stores and the shorts I liked in 1 place were $260 and the swimsuit was $250, so you get the idea. It’s beautiful, and there looks like there are some nice places to eat, but for the average tourist, a bit $$$$$

My girlfriend and I visited Camana Bay several times during our 10-day stay at the Comfort Suites Seven Mile Beach Hotel. It’s an easy walk from our hotel and our hotel also had a free shuttle service to Camana Bay.
Along with a cinema, there are plenty of shops and restaurants with outdoor seating in the area. A farmers and artisans market happens every Wednesdays on the Paseo in Camana Bay. Foster’s Supermarket in Camana Bay was quite convenient for our grocery shopping. The dock to catch the Cayman Ferries to Rum Point and Kaibo is also located at Camana Bay. One of the parking lots at Camana Bay is home to the only grove of African sausage trees on the Cayman Islands.
Be sure to go up the Observation Tower at Camana Bay for a view of the surrounding area. There is no admission charge and there is also an elevator if you don’t want to climb the stairs. Colourful murals adorn the walls of the stairway. Camana Bay was also a good place to go for my early morning runs. It was nice to run along the promenade with minimal traffic in the area.

But we ended up strolling for a bit and eating at Booklyn Pizza, then grabbing some gelato. It is a fun area t hang out and grab a bite, some pie restaurants around, a little play area for little kids and some stores.

I have read about public buses going up and down seven mile beach. I am wondering if these buses go up to camana bay and Georgetown? Is anyone aware of the fare? US or CI?
Written 17 July 2018
Yes, you can take a small bus that takes you all the way passing camana bay and leave you in george town.
You can pay in US or CI both works great for them bot remember the USD is lower than the CYD.
The cost is around 2 USD.
I found this information on the web that may can help.
Cheers

Buses on Grand Cayman are actually mini buses that carry up to 12 passengers costing anywhere from $2.50 to $5(USD). Buses run on eight different routes that are color coded for easy recognition Monday through Saturday. The main bus depot is located in George Town and buses start departing from there each morning at 6:00 a.m. The last bus pulls in at 11:00 p.m. From there passengers may take advantage of the following schedules.
The bus from George Town to West Bay runs every 15 minutes and the fare is just under $2(USD) per person each way. This line runs from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
The bus from George Town to Bodden Town runs every 30 minutes and the fare is also just under $2(USD) per person each way. This line runs from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
The bus from George Town to East End and North Side runs once every hour and the fare is $2.50(USD) per person each way. This line runs from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday through Thursday, and until midnight on Friday.
