About
The Cayman Islands Brewery was launched in 2007. The company constructed a state of the art brewery incorporating a fully automated brewhouse, together with kegging, canning and bottling lines. The objective from the start has been to deliver world-class products, but ones which are also unique to the Cayman Islands. Our range of beers have won many awards in the international arena and are firmly established as the beers of choice in Cayman, something of which we are extremely proud. The emphasis throughout our company is on environmentally friendly production and distribution, including returnable bottles.

Ignore rating. They cancelled our scheduled tour. Said stopped all tours March 1st due to safety (I'm guessing 1 idiot screwed it up for all of us - so don't blame them).
Very good & pleasant communication. They do have beer tasting flights at the brewery, so can still go and drink (i.e. its just a bar now at the brewery). Not really convenient location, at least for us, so we likely aren't going. Bummed can't do tour, although still hope to enjoy some of the local brews when on Island at more convenient drinking establishment!

Was hoping to find a brewery on the island and sure enough I found a great one. Just about 10-15 minutes outside of town but definitely worth the trip. I did a flight and every single one hit the mark. They also have a special each week concocted by one of the brewers and this week it had full flavors of raspberry and chocolate and was just perfect. Great place, great service. Highly suggest!

The CIB tour was so much fun! We were fortunate to have the head brewer guide us, and she was fantastic. I learned so much! And the beer is of course delicious! More than enough samples to try. The staff are so friendly. We will be back on our next visit to the island!

We have visited GC several times on past cruises and on this visit we were looking for something different to do. We enjoy craft beer so decided to head out on our own to visit Caybrew. We walked to the bus station which was about two blocks from the cruise pier. The bus station was easy to find, but when we arrived we found that there are no buses.... there are actually mini-vans that serve as local buses. We told the driver where we wanted to go and she was very helpful. It cost $2.50 per person. The drive took about 15 - 20 minutes. The brewery was great. It cost $10 per person and you received a tour and five 4-oz samples. There were about 6 beers on tap. The tour was very informative; we were taken directly into the brewery and canning operation. There is a large variety of brewery merchandise. Everything was reasonably priced. Before leaving, we purchased a can of beer for $1 to drink on the ride back on the bus (taking a beer to go is legal, it just needs to be in a paper bag-which the brewery will provide). The bus ride to/from the brewery was also a great way to see a lot of the island. It was safe, traveling with locals, drinking a beer and a great option to the usual cruise excursions.

Found this midway through our vacation, wished we would have stopped here first!! Did the tour $6 and you get 5 glasses of draft. You don't have to drink them all at once, save the tokens and stop by several times. Their prices for alcohol are the best we found on the island. Super friendly & nice staff treated us very well! We enjoyed our visit's there. FYI - a 24 pack of pirates gold fits nicely in a hard sided suitcase for the trip home safely. Pirates Beer is now in Canada!!

First of all, this is not just for "beer drinkers". Everyone should go from adults to kids. I'll start with the obvious...for $6 US (under 18 no fee) you have a chance to sample 5 of the beers on tap at the bar in the gift shop, and by sample I mean it might not be a bad idea to take a cab there... The tour is nothing short of amazing, a witty combination of jokes and information alike to cover topics from brewing, recycling projects, and humanitarian efforts set forth by the brewery in times of natural disasters. Every bit of this company is focused on the island community, sustainability, and giving back...and a nice side result is great tasting beer and a great company. After this tour I drank nothing but Caybrew because I enjoyed the idea of supporting such an amazing company. Our tour guide Matthew was amazing and you'll be very pleased with his knowledge and warming personality!

An absolute must visit. About $6 US dollars for four to five beers. Great shop w/ superior souverners. Extreamly informational. And a ton of fun for a small or large party. Ask for Matthew a great host/tour guide.

We went on the 3pm tour (they hold tours on hour) from 9am to 4pm (last tour is at 4pm - though check their website for more details). We were staying on island so we went later in the day to miss the crowd from the cruise ships, however, I think our tour guide was rather tired from a very heavy morning of tours (there were 10,000 people in port that day - compared to a normal 5,000). It was very interesting and we learned a lot about their beer making process and their history. She also made sure that we had samples before we started the tour and went to see the bottling right away since she knew that they were almost done for the day. At the end of the tour we got to sample more beers and were able to buy a variety six pack. Tips for others: They can beer most days of the week and bottle beer one day, so call ahead if you want to see the bottling. Go after 1pm if you want to miss most of the cruise ships. Also, they have free wifi if you want to rate your beers on Untappd. Also, as of 11/1/13 they will be charging for their tours.

First of all, in college I worked at a local brewery in Washington State. This brewery was nothing like that. It is very small and not much to it. We actually went there on 3 different days because of the workers giving me wrong information. The tour guide was informative, but it was hard to hear her with all the production noise. Mostly it was listening to her talk about the different vats/pipes and the process of making beer. You don't actually get to see them do it.
PROS: You get to sample 4 of their beers. The tour is free. Kids can go. 30 minute tour.
CONS: Hard to hear the tour guide. Tours don't start when they say they do (it's supposed to be on the hour). Not much to see.
TIPS: call ahead to see when they are bottling/canning.

How much walking is required on this tour? My 82 year old father would like to join us. He’s not in a wheelchair but is limited to how much he can walk. Are there benches for him to rest?
Written 21 February 2018
It is a very short tour in distance but there are no benches, etc. along the way. Your dad could stay in the tap room if it is too long. There are places to sit there while you taste.

No, didn't see any food for sale

What bus do you take from the cruise port to get to the brewery?
Written 30 June 2017
We took a cab. $30 included our trip to and from the port and the cab driver waiting one hour for us at the brewery. (Party of 4)

How long is the tour? We will be coming in from the cruise port in October of this year.
Written 22 July 2016
My wife and I will be stopping in the Grand Caymans on our cruise. Is the best option for a tour to grab a cab and go to the brewery ourselves? If so how much is the cab ride? We have also been told about the Rum distillery tour and have the same questions about that. Thank you for any help here!!

We placed a six pack in our suitcase that we checked and had no problems. Anything more than this I am not sure.
