Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The building is quite modern with well laid out galleries on two floors. There are 70+ pieces of artwork which includes painting and sculptures. There is an interactive video on the second floor that provides interesting information about the islands.
There is an elevator. Admission is free and so is the wi-fi. There is also a gift shop by the front entrance. We covered the whole gallery in about an hour. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great small Museum showing the art of the local Cayman community. Very enjoyable with nice knowledgeable staff. It has a small cafe and nice courtyard that I wish they could use more for functions or even to have a restaurant. The gift shop has art pices and locally made jewelry as well. Its about a one hour activity. By the way the museum is free.

The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands was a great visit. Lots of great art produced by Caymanian artists in both a temporary exhibit and permanent collection. There was also an outdoor sculpture garden and cafe on premises. Worth the stop for all fans of art and culture.

Small but impressive art gallery! Can be done in an hour or so! The lower level has exhibits that are temporary and rotating. The upper level - permanent e
exhibits by Cayman Islands artists. Both are impressive. The nicest thing is that the art represents local life and history of the islands through the ages! There is a sad undercurrent of sadness brought on by development and loss of the older ways of life! Would love to recommend this to anyone. Plus it's all free!

Fantastic art space with historical permanent works and contemporary works. The current show was amazing. I really loved the cultural themes explored. I rode the bus, then took a scooter from the bus stop. It was a nightmare because the scooters are limited to zones. Ugh! After finally arriving, the intern at the front desk was super sweet and offered to call me a taxi back to my place whenever I was ready. It’s definitely worth getting there, but just take a taxi if you are not super close. It will save you time and money.

This is a first-rate, if small museum that is worth a visit for anyone interested in art and future in the Caribbean. Kudos to the museum administration for maintaining this as a free institution, open to all. While we were there, a small but interesting exhibition of modern art from Jamaica was on view. The design and installation were very well done, and I say this as someone who works in the museum profession. We also enjoyed the 2nd floor exhibition of art by local artists. The gardens in the back were lovely; we enjoyed the labyrinth and the sculpture on view. I was impressed by the museum and look forward to seeing other exhibitions there when I have the opportunity to return.

The gallery is well laid out with plenty of space on both floors with different exhibits downstairs on rotation and upstairs given over to permanent art of the Caymans. However there is so much space you feel like they could make better use of it and it feels quite bare as you walk around.
The visit will take you 20 minutes at very best and I actually found wandering the gardens and looking a the sculptures more interesting than the actual gallery.
Given that the gallery is relatively new, there is still plenty of time for it to grow and mature into an excellent place for anyone who visits or lives on the island.
Worth visiting if you're passing by and being only a couple of minutes from Camana Bay, it would be rude not to, especially as admission is free.

A nice break from all the water activities. It's a beautiful building, with a lovely sculpture garden. Inside, the docents are helpful and full of good information about the collection.
Definitely worth a visit.

Small but well done gallery. Varied styles, and displayed well so you can enjoy each on its own. I walked from 7 mile beach, and then Camana Bay shopping is close by as well.

You can take a bus but you'll have to walk. A taxi will be better and quicker.
