We hired a taxi to take us to the Fort and Amazing Grace Experience. We were very short on time, but I didn't want to miss this opportunity to learn the background of the greatest Christian hymn. We were able to view the video and see the exhibits in under 30 minutes. We would have preferred having more time, but... More

Family of 4 travelling with 2 teens. I've sung this song many times and even played it in the church band, but never knew the 'full' story behind the song. This humble stop in St. Kitts was, yes, Amazing. No matter your spiritual beliefs, John Newton's story is incredible and one to which we as sinners can all relate. If... More

We LOVED the Amazing Grace Experience and highly recommend it. Though there is a small museum that comprises a timeline and detailed (executive summaries in bold were great) history of John Newton, the song’s composer, the core of the attraction is a 1--15 minute video that is particularly engaging for all ages. Thanks to the Saint Christopher National Trust for... More

Visiting as part of a cruise ship arranged tour I found the whole experience truly wonderful. Both hosts at the experience were friendly and knowledgable and their sense of engagement with the history of Rev Newton, his colourful life and in particular the history of the hymn was highly informative. The hospitality from them warm and delightful, the historical film... More

My husband and I went on an island tour and this was one of the last stops. It was a great way to end as it was so peaceful there. The staff was very hospitable (offering us beverages) and then took time to explain the pictorial history to us. Having sung the song in church growing up, it was really... More

OK, there are many places that one 'should' visit when touring around the island. But, this little gem is a treat and a surprise. Hazel the curator is a gem! If you want to learn about the real history of the island.. the hymn.. the slave trade.. etc then stop here. This is not like any other museum or stop.... More

A truly wonderful experience. Every man can and should identify with the hymn Amazing Grace by John Newton. At 82, Newton said, "My memory is nearly gone, but I remember two things, that I am a great sinner, and that Christ is a great Saviour." No wonder he understood so well grace--the completely undeserved mercy and favor of God. This... More

Extremely interesting visit. As well as covering Wesley's life in great detail. His becoming a Christian began the long road to the abolition of slavery, although sadly this still exists in some parts of the world. Well worth the visit.

We wee the last of three mini bus taxi's to arrive the staff had waited for us to start their presentation. The presentation was an narrated film about the life of the composer. We were provided with a small fan to help cool ourselves while we watched and listened to the presentation. At the end we were each given a... More

If it can be part of your itinerary of your tour of the Island, stop by and support the Amazing Grace Experience. As the Nation of St. Kitts & Nevis confronts its past, this bit of history and the transformation of the individual who wrote this great hymn, will be an important part. Thanks to Hazel & Keithlyn for their... More
