This place is set right at the edge of the rain forest and has some lovely small gardens and manor ruins. The centerpiece is an enormous 400 year old tree. There is also a small scenic overlook platform for photo taking. Inside, you'll get a quick and interesting 5-minute demonstration of how batik is made. The rest is a large... More

Romney Manor was a pleasant garden, in a rain forest. The main attraction was a batik store. I am not sure if there should have been an entry fee, although it was small. The garden was nice but there was no Manor house to view, just some ruins.

Romney Manor is part of most island tours. The Great House has been well maintained. The gardens are well kept and tranquil with a large variety of plants. The giant fan palm is very impressive. Take some time to wander around and discover all the gardens have to offer.

Romney Manor was a lovely stop on our island tour covering the history of the oldest plantation on the island and the history of the Caribelle Batik which is still being done today! The lush gardens are gorgeous, the history enchanting and the batik is available for purchase! Quite lovely. Also a place to grab a bit of a snack... More

We visited as part of Rose & Jim;s tours, It is lovely tranquil gardens and worth the small entrance fee. Good hand made clothing available to buy and the views of the rain forest are amazing.

Batik 'factory' and store. You can watch how the material is decorated and dyed. Store carries beautiful batik dresses, shirts, purses, and yards of material.

Romney Manor was originally the owner's home on a sugar cane plantation. They now demonstrate the art of Batik fabric dying. There are many Batik items for sale in the shop. Very well preserved site. Beautiful gardens.
