We took the water ferry over to Nevis for the day; walked a bit before we found a taxi driver that looked decent and away we went! You'd never find this place otherwise! It's high on a hill overlooking the port of Nevis...quite a view! The entrance was a bit disorganized and it had been raining so we paid the... More

This is one of the best botanical gardens we have ever visited. The grounds are shaded and well manicured and all of the vast array of flora and fauna are spread over a former estate. Peaceful, cool, serene, and with a Thai restaurant to boot.

This is a compact but extremely well planned garden with a surprise round every corner. We especially like the rain forest exhibit complete with parrots and the yellow monkeys that appeared in the late afternoon. As we were waiting for our taxi one of the Thai staff came out and played guitar and sang to us - it was pretty... More

The Botanical Gardens are lovely. Finding them is a little tricky, as the road signs to them are infrequent and hard to spot, but once there they are truly pleasurable. The gardens are laid out in around a lovely plantation house. The grass is kept immaculately, there is a lake with a fountain and orchids abound. There is also a... More

This is the number one attraction in Nevis, period, and it's even better than the last time we visited, eight years ago -- not just orchids, now, but an amazing array of southeast Asian sculptures, and fruit trees.

Stunning gardens with a great shop and restaurant. The place exudes beauty and charm and is well worth a visit on all counts. Something that seemed to be a little incongruous were the snippets of Asian culture and statutary that were dotted about the place - harmoniously integrated but unexpected in the Caribbean. However, a very elegant venue.

We have been to many gardens in the Caribbean, and have come to have very low expectations, so this was a wonderful surprise. It is owned and run by a Thai family who have put a huge amount of time, effort, money and pride into this lovely place. A beautifully landscaped garden on many levels and with a very wide... More

Near the base of Nevis volcano, this lovely spot was very pleasant on a Thursday midday. We toured the garden and ate lunch at the Thai restaurant at the centre of the garden. We sat on the veranda with a spectacular view of Mount Nevis. The owner was very charming and spent about 10 minutes talking with us. Well worth... More

Every aspect of the Botanical Gardens is well cared-for. The paths are all interesting and different, the plants are healthy and vigorous and the location is on a hilltop with glimpses of views all around, including the brooding Mt. Nevis. The people are kind and enthusiastic. Even the non-plant lovers among us loved this place.
