Our most popular ride is the Nevis beach and trail ride which begins with a walk to the beach through an old coconut grove which was once part of Jamestown, the first capital of Nevis in the 1600's. Close by is Ft. Ashby, the first fort on the island built in 1650. Along the way, you will pass Nelson's Spring, a beautiful lagoon where clipper ships once filled up with fresh drinking water.

We continue through Calhoun Estate where you will see Brahma cattle and in the distance, St. Thomas' Anglican Church, the oldest active Anglican Church in the Caribbean (1643). We then return to the beach at Beach Paradise Nevis on Paradise Beach, where we can see the beach at the Four Seasons Resort. From there, we turn east, off the beach to Paradise Estate, once a magnificent sugar plantation where you will see ruins of a sugar mill and, a little farther off, the magnificent estate homes at Four Seasons. Your ride then proceeds through the bush, near the Four Seasons world-renowned golf course. We ride past a typical Nevis home of the 1800's, made completely of cedar shingles, and on through the village of Cotton Ground, which derives its name from the production of cotton in years past. The people of this village are warm and friendly and you don't want to forget the name of your horse because the young children, who know the horses, will question you as to which one you are riding.

As we make our return to the stables you will see St. Kitts to the west and the cloud covered Nevis Peak to the east. Just another beautiful day in paradise!

Proprietors, The Guilberts, raised Arabian show horses for twenty-five years in California, USA before moving to Nevis in 1994. They opened the Nevis Equestrian Centre in 1996 with daughter, Erika, a trained hunter-jumper rider who conducted therapeutic riding, as a community service, for students with special needs from 1998 until 2009. Her students brought home gold silver and bronze medals from the Special Olympics held in North Carolina, USA in 1999 and from the Special Olympics World Games in Ireland in 2003.

I can't say enough about it. It was amazing, magical. Nevin (spelling?) was an amazing guide. I had the best time of my life riding the beach and the back-country of Nevis

This was my first time on a horse and what wonderful way to experience Nevis. As a first timer, I was expertly guided by Erica and felt comfortable the whole ride. l loved my horse, Hock. Seeing Nevis this way is must and something I would do again when I return.

Very happy & loved horses. That's all that matters to me. Everything else was a bonus. The owner was very welcoming. The two guides were a delight, one was a local and the other a med student with horses at home. We did a 9am 90 minute ride. The weather was perfect. The ride was beautiful. We were on trails... I took my experienced 14 year old rider to NEC for a vacation ride. It had been a dream of hers to ride along the beach. We were not disappointed. John was so helpful in helping us organize the ride, and our guide Nivan made sure we had an awesome experience. My daughter had the time if her life, and... More

Thank you so much for your review of our sunset ride. We can't take all the credit - mother nature has something to do with it! However, it is a fact that a sunset beach ride on Nevis cannot be beat! We look forward to seeing you in March. John More

We thoroughly enjoyed John and Naven and the horseback riding. You can tell they love what they do and go out the way to make the experience easy to arrange and enjoy.

Riding on horseback along the beaches i the Caribbean is a dream. This center even has well kept horses of good quality. Missing some more speed, but understand that they have responsibility for all skills.

Thanks so much for your review and thoughts about your ride with us. I am very sorry that you could not ride at a canter or gallop because of the other rider's skill levels in your group, however safety is essential to group rides. We do offer private rides for exsperienced riders who want to ride at a faster pace.... More

We had a wonderful sunset ride on the beach. The ride began in the hills above the stable and moved. Onto the beach withe spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and St. Kitts. Our guide, a jockey himself, was friendly and competent. My husband has not ridden much so we went at a slow pace. The horses were very responsive... More

We will pass your comments along to our horses, as they like to know they are doing a good job too! We hope to see you again when you return to Nevis. Thank... More

My daughter has taken horse riding lessons for two years and was excited for the opportunity to ride horses on a Caribbean beach. One of our cruise stops was St. Kitts and since I had been there several times already I was willing to go horse back riding with her at Nevis while my wife and two sons stayed back... More
