The La Soufriere Cross Country Trail winds its way from sea level up to the top of the majestic La Soufriere Volcano (4048ft/ 1178m). Granite cliffs reach for the sky, giving way to sweeping valleys and deep gorges and eventually the immense volcanic crater. The walk to the crater is moderately difficult, and takes about two hours uphill from the windward side.

The La Soufriere Cross Country Trail snakes across the width of St Vincent, and can be walked from either the leeward or windward coast. The total trail is approximately 9 miles (15 km) long and offers breath-taking panoramic views of the surrounding land and seascape and close encounters with fauna.

This is must do activity. I did this with my sister and brother-in-law and I can say I'll never forget the day we hike the La Soufriere. It was not easy, I wanted to quit several times, but I was overjoyed when I made it to the top. I would not recommend for kids; it was tough! I was not... More

If you have the ability to go up to the volcano, I definitely recommend it. My boyfriend and I had Fraser for as our tour guide, and we could not have been happier. He was talking and sharing stories about St. Vincent the whole hike. It made it so fun it didn't even feel like work getting up. He provided... More

We arranged our visit to La Soufriere Volcano with Sailor Wilderness tours. Having slept in we missed the early (6:30 AM) ferry from Bequia to Kingstown... however our tour guide assured us that there would be enough time to drive from Kingstown to the trailhead (about an hour), do the hike to the volcano, and return in time for the... We did the trail from the leeward side from Richmond Vale. I couldn't recommend it more if you're visiting St. Vincent.

You can't visit St. Vincent and not take a hike up to the peak of La Soufriere. Yes, it's a long trek (2 hours on the windward side, 4 hours on the leeward) but once you get to the summit, the views are breath taking! Having made the trek a few times myself, it doesn't get easier (LOL). At least... More

Chris took us up the volcano which was one heck of a trek but once on the top well worth the sweat and work! Bring lots of water and a snack to eat for energy. Took us 5 and a half hours up and down! Great!

La Soufriere is a beautiful volcano, just in front of the Caribbean Sea, which makes it an outstanding place for amazing views. I've been there twice and I would love to go back again! I went there with Richmond Vale Hiking and Diving Center, which I consider now as my own family! Worth going, beautiful, not so demanding and refreshing... More

Hiked up this beautiful trail from a banana plantation. Started off through dense jungle which gradually got thinner and Shorter as we gained altitude. The clouds were changing all the time. Seems to always be clouds in the Mountains here. First part of the hike was for me hard as i was dehydrated and had a stomach bug so the... More
