Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cruise port destination via powered cat. Nice black sand beach. We had the whole place to ourselves. Must go by sea - don't know how easy it would be to drive here. Very relaxing.

A long beach with black sand. The beach was sparkling clean, a few leaves that fell of the trees, absolutely no garbage. The water was clear, we saw beautiful fish, corals, and even an octopus.
There were just a few locals on the beach, they had a party with bbq and music, so we had background music. We had a wonderful time.
We were on a cruise and came here with a local taxi driver. We did know of this beach prior, and specifically asked to be taken there, as usually cruisers are taken to another beach with white sand, which was very crowded when we drove by.

We visited ‘Mt.Wynne beach’ on a recent cruise excursion (The beach features in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie). We were picked up in the Scaramouche (a schooner used in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean movie) from Kingstown port and had a scenic sail to ‘Mt. Wynne beach’ via Wallilabou bay. The beach has ‘Black volcanic sand’ with crystal clear water. The entry into the water was excellent with no shells or rocks underfoot. Snorkelling was also available during the excursion at the end of the beach. The beach was very quiet the day we visited and has no built up area (bars or shops). We were only on the beach for about an hour but would like to return for longer if visiting St. Vincent.

Wonderful beach to picnic and explore. Bring some cash as you have to pay a few bucks to use the bathroom if needed. Don't mind the stray dogs. Great snorkeling by the rocks to the right off the shore. Volcanic sand is black and hot so stay in the water or wear water shoes.

We saw the largest fans ever while snorkeling here along the rocks on right side going in. Lots and lots of coral-brain, tube, elkhorn. Schools of fish. Very nice. Always be aware of current while swimming and snorkeling. We went on a calm day.

What I love about this beach is the spooky path way from the main road and then everything opens to some of the clearest water. Shade is nice too. Grounds equipped for recreation

We visited the beach with a group from our hotel with the staff organising games & a BBQ.
There is a lovely black sand beach with a nice bay for swimming. The beach is tree lined giving shade from the fierce sun.
The area behind the beach has three open pavilions with seats for you to prepare & enjoy your food.
There is a large open grassed area for playing, but what other game would you play other than cricket.
The are toilets are clean, even had liquid soap and paper towels.
We did see someone looking after the area and good to see people using the the rubbish bins or taking their rubbish home.

Approx how much would a taxi from Kingstown (cruise ship pier) to Mt. Wynne Beach cost? And is a taxi likely to pick us up. Also - how safe is the beach (will our "stuff" be OK if we go in for a swim or is it likely to "walk)? Seems like a beautiful - remote beach (which is both really good and potentially bad).

The cost to Mt Wynne can varied, it depends on the taxi and how many persons, and stops you wish to make but it can vary between US$25 and US$50.
