The beach is pretty active and has the most facilities in the country. However I have a 3 out of 5 because the washroom facility can use some updating as well as the carpark and traffic control on popular days (i.e. The weekend)

Beautiful scenery and quite relaxing with local cuisine, but tobago has much better beaches. The drive is scenic and peaceful and mountainous.

Maracas Bay beach is the place you really want to visit as a local or even more so as a tourist. It offers secure parking as well a a safe environment for beach-goers since there was a visible security presence. My girlfriend lounged on the beach chair which has an additional cost for the maintainence by the local people who... More

One should try shark and bake , doubles , carib beer or coconut water. One must observe for color of flags to see ,if the place is safe for bathing. Beach is being... More

Beautiful beach, surrounded by rocks and tropical trees, makes it look very natural. My favorite on the island

WoW.....The drive up the mountain is absolutely wonderful, the views are breathtaking! It is an all day event, so bring towels, sunscreen, slippers, beach shoes, cameras, an empty stomach and you are ready!

Visited maracas bay on our trip to Trinidad. The route to get there is quite interesting, I won't recommend attempting to drive there if you're not a very, very experienced driver (winding roads, sharp corners, lack of space for oncoming vehicles, close to steep drops, speedy oncoming traffic, etc.). You definately need impeccable driving skills to be able to manoeuvre... More

It is the number one beach in Trinidad - it is the place where you can get the worlds famous Trinidad bake and shark - it is very popular with both locals and foreigners - is just about a forty minutes drives from the capital Port of Spain .
