Fun snorkeling, right off the beach. Lots of colourful fish, clear water, not too deep, easy and we even saw a turtle!

It is less convenient than Coral Gardens, but worth the effort once you get in the water. Very vibrant and healthy reef with a lot of life. We saw some reef sharks, a turtle, a great variety of fish, plus a close-up pass by four...More

If you love snorkeling you must visit Smith's Reef/Provo/Turks and Caicos. My wife and I spent a week and stayed right in Turtle cove at a beautiful Air B&B. Thanks to Jaky "View from the Top” for such wonderful accommodations. (Awesome) SO... back to the...More

Smith’s Reef is the best place to shore snorkel in central Provo! It is more challenging than the reef at Bight Beach (rougher water and more current) but well worth it! The reef is virtually all natural, and there are 3 separate areas that can...More

We did some snorkelling here just near to the rocks, where the water is quite shallow and you can stand up in places. There was some coral and the fish were quite pretty and colourful, saw a stoplight parrotfish, blue tangs, sergeant majors (?), yellowtail...More

Reef did have a reasonably good variety of smaller fish : blue tang, damselfish, yellow tail snapper, school master, yellow goatfish, small mouth grunt, stoplight parrotfish. Choppy water and strong tide made snorkeling challenging - not best for novice snorkelers or weak swimmers. Believe it...More

This place is hard to find! As others mentioned, there is a short path to the beach from the roundabout which dead ends at some expensive homes, but at the end of the path there is no map as I believe we were on the...More

Our first time here, we walked to the little sandy parking lot where Coconut Rd. ends and says "Beach Access". (We were staying right across the main street at La Vista Azul condo) There's a nice little beach area and the marina. Next day, we...More

This secluded beach is beautiful. It is rocky so I reccommend beach/water shoes. We saw a stingray and a variety of coral and fish. It is so secluded we were the only ones there. I would reccommend renting a car and driving to all the...More

Some hotels may let guests borrow snorkeling gear. We brought our own but discovered that our hotel, Royal West Indies, has gear available for free.

I think you would be very hard pressed to travel from Grand Turk to Provo, where Smith's reef is located, and still have enough time to snorkel.
