High Waves , out of Providenciales, is a superior half day charter service . Captain Stacey and first Mate Mario were exceptional . Small Boston Whaler that could access many beaches . They provided lunch and wine , took us to several beaches where we could find shells and of course iguana island where we were up close with many iguanas . Also part of the tour included fishing and Mario even “robbed the bank” in other words; dived for sand dollars for us at a submerged sand bank. Snorkeling is another activity they do , but this particular day the seas were not ideal for that . Here’s the thing : these folks are Amazingly friendly and responsive . They will design your outing around what you want to do and will pick you up and return you to your resort or villa . High quality and informative boat outing , and just a tremendous amount of fun. Stacy and Mario are guys you could spend more than a day with and enjoy every minute . Try these folks . They’re great .

This beach is good for families with small children since the ocean is very calm and shallow here. But its crowded and not as pretty as other beaches on the isle.
Vendors offer $5 beer. Be aware of the food vendor that promotes his wonderful grilled food, but cant seem to deliver within 90 minutes.
There are recreational opportunities like jetski, sailboat tours, etc available.

This place must be the highest vantage on Providenciales. You can walk up to, and touch, the centuries-old sailor's graffiti. What I did not expect is the beautiful view this hill offers of Sapodilla Bay and Beach, as well as a good portion of the whole island. And on a hot day, you'll get a welcome breeze.
Note: This place is a little hard to find. Take South Dock Road to get there - Do NOT take 5 Cays Road (bumpy and sketchy)! Towards the end of South Dock Road, turn right onto the only paved road (Chalk Sound Drive), just past the police station. After 200 feet of paved road, turn left down a chalk road. At the end of this nameless chalk road, the trail up the hill is to the left. There is supposed to be a small white sign identifying the Sapodilla Rock Carvings. We found the sign flat on the ground, so be willing to look around a bit, and just find your way up the hill! It's a thin, foot trail through the brush. Wear sturdy shoes.
Do it - it's worth it.

So I followed that direction of another reviewer as they were pretty dead on. You take South Dock Rd until you get to a sign that says Welcome to Chalk Sound. You turn right in front of it and the police station will be on you right. You will go by a low blue building with a green fence around it and there is a wide dirt road there just past it on the left. If you pass a real tall blue house (3-4 stories) you have gone too far. You follow the dirt road to the end and there is a parking area to the left. The path up is on the right hand side of the parking area and the sign is laying on the ground. The path is steep going up but it isn’t a long climb (down is scary, I held on to the foliage going down). For a view you go to the right at the top, to see the carvings go left and keep your eyes down. The historic carvings are mixed in with some newer ones (saw a 1988 & 1998 as well as a 1821 & 1812). It was pretty cool.
Be sure to drive slow on the road, there are holes and dips throughout.

This beach is off the beaten path, but easy to find. So glad we did! Beautiful, calm water and lovely beach along with vendors selling food and beverages. This was the best place we found on Provo to see the sunset and get some beautiful photos.

After the police station on Chalk Sound Rd but before the blue house on the left, go down the chalk road. The beach access is on the right between the house and the bushes and the path to the carvings is on the left. The sign is on the ground. Be careful going up the rocks, wear sturdy shoes. But very interesting to see the carvings from the 1700s and 1800s. The view is spectacular from the top too. Also, don't forget to see the story about the carvings at the airport too to learn more of the story of the carvings.

There's a rough path from the parking lot upwards.
The hike itself is pretty short, but it can be a bit slippery. Definitely recommending wearing proper shoes.
The inscriptions themselves are pretty cool, and the view is pretty fantastic.
Considering how small Provo is, if you have a car, definitely check it out. If you have to taxi, you'll have to mull that over.

Sapodilla hill overlooks Sapodilla beach and is reached by foot trail from the same parking lot that serves the public access for the beach. It can be difficult to find - take the dirt road off Chalk Sound Drive across from the Police Station. The hill walk is a five minute climb from the parking lot. It's possible with flip-flops, but tread carefully. The bushes are scratchy on the way up and down; the trail is very narrow and can be steep.
The top of the hill is basically collection of graffiti carved into rocks since the 1700s. The view to the west of Chalk Cove and Sapodilla beach is very pretty. The view to the east is of a small container port and somewhat less attractive. There is no shade and no water.

This is a great beach small more private but plenty of opportunity for fun and water sports. A day away from tourist row to explore the south side of the island is a must!

Turn left on a gravel road immediately after turning on to chalk sound dr. The historical sign is laying on the ground at the end of the drive, right where to park. Short but steep/rocky trail heads immediately uphill and is a bit over grown. The view from the top is outstanding and the kids loved trying to decipher all the old pirate writing.
