My wife and I took a sailing trip to Buck Island on our visit to St. Croix. It was our first visit to the Island and was able to go snorkeling and really see the reef. We had a wonderful time and will do it again on our next visit.

The snorkeling here was comparable to Belize. Stunning. Pack a cooler and extra sunscreen. Its a half day trip 9am-2pm. It takes about an hour to get there. Then you get about an hour of snorkeling and 1.5 hour on the beach. The beach is gorgeous. We even spotted a few turtles.

wonderful beaches and clear water. Great play to just lay in water or beach and be with the beauty of the islands.

If you don't have your own boat you have to take a tour. Easy snorkel of coral garden. Pretty controlled tour that combines a snorkel tour and time on a beach (you have to do both). If you want more exposure to the reefs you'll have to find a more expensive private charter (from the same six approved concessionaires).

Good day snorkeling and going to island. Waters were much better at beach than snorkeling. Barracudas seen.

We could not think of anything to improve on the experience we enjoyed with Caribbean Sea Adventures and our captain, Meghan and mate, Nick. We thought it might cancel with only 5 guests - but not wanting to disappoint the owner gave "thumbs up! " As a marine biologist, Meghan gave us detailed insights, plus local lure tales that just... Buck Island was the best snorkeling experience I have had in the Caribbean. The marine life was abundant and the reefs were beautiful. We also spent some time on Turtle Beach before we went snorkeling. It's a really pristine and picturesque beach.

Snorkeling the reef amid a school of 500 or more glowing blue fish was an amazing experience. Enjoyed the underwater trail markers, and viewing the coral and other marine life was fantastic. We went via Big Beard's full day tour, and while I felt safe, the focus was on drinking and partying. Check your options, but go!

Great trip to Buck Island from Tamarind Reef Resort. We sailed about an hour to the island and then snorkeled along the north coast. The sand along the beach is white, fine and beautiful!! A must see for all visitors.
