Since the pier was rebuilt and beautified a few years ago it is a nice place to take a walk. Several ships now visit the area and when one is in dock tents spring up offering a plethora of island goods.

Came for "Sunset Jazz" and walked the pier. Talked with several people on the pier, including a fisherman. He was fishing with squid and told us a license is not needed here. WOW. Breathtaking sunset. We stayed on the other side of the island and have been treated to beautiful sunrises each day, but this had them all beat. Clean... More

We had a Holland America Line's Cruise and it stopped here in Frederikstad. Lots to see and do when you get to the shore, from Fort Frederik to Park following the shore line. So basically this is a must see, despite you want it or not :)

We saw more varieties of fish here than any other place on the island. It was easy to assess and not at all crowded.

On the advice of a local we went snorking on the south side of the pier, went out from the tiny beach, under the pier and the came back - best fish and wildlife we saw all week - turtle (up close), squid, manta ray, and LOTS of fish - don't miss it if you want to snorkel and see... More

Only two cruise lines come to Fredriksted. The town comes to life on those days. There are a few nice shops in the town, but not as Many as Christenstad.

It is a rite of passage to jump off the pier at Frederiksted and it is also a great way to beat the heat and cool off. Bring snorkel gear if you want to see some great underwater creatures. Pier provides a great place for fishing, strolling, viewing the fort and its cannons and just plain enjoying!

The best entry is to jump in on the right side heading out. There is marine life everywhere you look. Hundreds of pilings to explore, easy to navigate out and back. The ONLY ecit is on the right side swimming back, swim to the right of the rocks and you will find yourself on a small beach with cement block... More

Frederiksted pier is just lovely. Very clean and breathtaking views of the ocean and Island. Be mindful of your surroundings though....There are homeless and people waiting for you to leave your purse, beach bag alone so they can steal it from you. I was not warned of this and was almost a victim. Good thing I come from a Big... More
