Our Royal Caribbean cruise ship arrived in St. Thomas at Crown Bay harbor. We had pre-arranged our diving before leaving home. It is a nice short walk around the harbor to the dive boat location. Max recommended the WIT concrete wreck as our first dive. It lies in 60 ft and does not disappoint. Water temp 78. Upright, 350' long,... More

We had a great experience from start to finish with Geoff and Max. The dive shop was very conveniently located within walking distance of our cruise ship. Geoff took us on our first wreck dive at a spot called Navy Barges. It was easy and at a depth that even we could handle as newly certified divers. The boat was... More

On a beautiful morning of January 12, 2017, I had the pleasure of leaving my cruise ship, Royal Princess, to join boat driver Michael, master diver Max and local resident Ernie for two gorgeous dives. Talk about personalized service...they picked me up about as close as one can get to my ship. We were four persons on the boat "Barefoot"... More

Lots of wrecks, safe and knowledgable, Max is the Divemaster and knows his stuff and Mike the captain keeps everything going. First rate service for a local dive boat an great guys all round. By the way have you ever dove with dogs on the boat? Cant miss choice here on the island. Cruise ship people at Crown Bay are... More

We went diving with Max and he took us to a fantastic wreck (Grain wreck) and then to an encounter with reef sharks, They were circling around the whole dive, it was awesome, They were obviously curious about us and when we fed them a dead lion fish the show was on, Max and the captain were first and foremost... My husband and I love cruising and cruises tend to go to St. Thomas. This is our third dive with Blue Island and we keep using them for a reason – they are really good! They are also convenient for cruise ship passengers since their office is in walking distance of Crown Bay and they will pick you up if... More

Dive sites were ok and visibility was 60-80 ft. Bottom time is limited to 45 minutes and max depth was 65 ft. Water temp 80 degrees. The biggest problem was old style BC's with no integrated weights, everyone had to use weight belts. Also no computer or timing devices provided, so no way of keeping track of bottom time and... Mike, the boat captain, and Max, the Dive Instructor, were both A-MAZ-ING!!! They were friendly, fun, knowledgeable and since we are not certified but regular divers, they allowed us to just follow the rules without hand-holding. We dove with a certified couple also and we all had fun. We saw so many different kinds of fish, eel and coral. We... More

We like to choose our boats and dive team carefully; no crowded boats, experienced staff that are helpful, fun and want to share their knowledge. Safety is primary. We found Blue Island Divers met all our criteria. Day 1 had 4 divers. One couple was experiencing diving for the first time and we are logged thousands of dives. On some... More

My wife and I had a chance to dive with them as we came through on the Regal princess for the day. They were awesome.. we lucked out and got a private charter. So Max the DM and his wife lead us around on two 35-40 foot reef dives. Could not asked for a better time. Plus they were very... More
