If you need jewelry and have some cash this is the street, make it like you will think about it and they will lower the price just think about this when you buy, all the pieces are marked at a price 3 times more than what they will take...example ..a ring with diamonds 1.50 k white gold that I really... Store after store after store of jewelry. The same stuff you see at every cruise boat port. There were a few decent stores interspersed but too overwhelming with all of the jewelry stores. Does anybody really buy all that jewelry?

Well, if you like to shop till you drop, this might be for you. For the rest of us, Boring. If you are a cruise, you will be told that today is your day for shopping. Guaranteed the best prices ever, trust me, this is told to everyone getting of the ship. Every day, every time a boat comes in.... More

If you are looking for jewelry or cheesy souvenirs, this is the street for you. There is not a good deal of middle ground for those who would like some quality rememberances or finer clothing.

this is the place to shop in the caribbean, from perfume to jewelery, easy to get to from cruise ships with friendly drivers and open air taxis, and no pressure to buy. Just do not forget to go down the allleys where you find hidden treasures

There is an actual leave your man daycare aka a bar at the shopping center. We arrived on a non cruise day which we learned you would get the best deals ever. This was also a great day to shop because the place was not inundated by tourists. Everything is cheaper here than in the states which I didn't understand.... More

Fortunately, Main St. is not the only way to get from one end of Charlotte Amalie to the other, so we avoided it like the plague. Every shop (and every 20 feet there's another one) has people in the doorway "beckoning" you to enter, offering special deals, free offers, etc. These are not cheap souvenir vendors; these are high end... Shopping for everything from t-shirts to fine art — this is a fun stroll for Women Who Shop. The weather's almost always nice, the area seems quite safe and clean, everybody's relaxed and friendly, what's not to like? It's a stone's throw from museums and a few historic markers here and there, and a very short walk from a cruise... More

Definitely the street you go if you want some jewelry or watches. Been here 2 years in a row and my wife never leaves empty handed. There are also some good liqueur shops with reasonable prices.

The downtown area with Main Street being one block in the back of the waterfront is very busy when cruise ships are in port. Tip: if you don't like being hassled by street solicitors then go on the busiest of cruise ship days. You can google or look in weekly magazines for cruise ship schedules. When it's less busy with...
