Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ripping off the locals, the focus is on the company profits not the visitors. How can we squeeze every penny out is ethos?

Have been a regular visitor to Garwnant for about twenty years. However yesterday was appalled by car parking charges. For a car it's £2 for the first two hours, then £5 for the day. Please view link below

https://www.forestholidays.co.uk/visitor-centres/garwnant-brecon-beacons/

Two hours is not a lot of time to spend at this lovely place, especially if you have a coffee at the Centre, after a walk,it all adds to the cost.

This "Leisure Tax" is certainly not a tool to promote health and. wellbeing.

The recent development of holiday
lodges has seen cars competing with pedestrians on forestry roads.

I'm not against progress but it must work sympathetically with our environment.

20 minutes in the car park, £2.00. Absolute rip off.
No tarif of charges displayed either.
Now gated & no way of turning around once you arrive at the barrier.
Did not visit the cafe this time however last visit (when parking was free) required a re-mortgage in order to buy lunch for two.

Been there many times. This was my first visit since it has changed to a holiday centre where the log cabins have been introduced. Had a very expensive coffee and cake but the biggest shock came with the cost of car parking. £5 for just over one hour. Won't be going again.

Absolutely disgusted with the price of food. Came here when my children was growing up from 1997- 2012. It was an amazing place for children and adults to enjoy. The staff was amazing. Friendly, polite, nothing to much bother. It was a family that catered for families….Prices were affordable. However many children you had there was something affordable. Always free little activities in the cafe or classroom. Always events on for everyone. So we had to pay a £1. But was well worth it.

Now- where do I start. Pottery from £11. Rip off 1 You can’t hire a bike unless it’s all day. You can’t go further than 2 hours as a family on the cycle route. So, that’s rip off 2.

Cheese toasties - - two pieces of toast with a small amount of cheese layer on top.( not even inside) Rip off 3. ( see Photograph)
Car parking £5. Who in the area can afford that? Rip off 4. ( what are we paying for? - the countryside) absolutely disgusting)

I've enjoyed visiting Garwnant over the years. This time we tried to do the usual walk but Forest Holidays have been allowed to build a holiday park in the woods, so half the walk is along an unmade Road used by cars going to the cabins. Such a shame
