We are residents of St. Thomas (1 year) and had a friend in from NY. We took her over to St. John since we haven't been there yet (we're "workaholics ☺️) and we stopped at Mongoose Junction. I love the variety of shops...there's literally something for just about everyone!!! Parking was a bit difficult because it was Halloween and the... More

Thanks, CB Glad you enjoyed and Halloween here is very special to us because of the number of children and families that come out for trick or treating in the afternoon. The parking is usually ample (and FREE!) but special events here can make it a tad more difficult. Hope to see you again soon. More

This was a great break from a big beach day! Nice shops and cute bars and restaurants. Lots of jewelry and crafts. There are also two places to rent snorkel gear to head over to Maho bay or any of the other beaches. There is also information kiosks that can assist with how to get around the island. Parking is... We came here during the last day of our 5-day stay on St John. We knew from previous experience that a lot of business shut down or have limited hours during October, but it was still a disappointment to see all five art galleries closed when we arrived. That having been said, Bamboula was a hit and well worth the... More

Thanks KM! Yes, it's the off season on St. John and with so many of our stores being locally owned and operated, some do take down time in Sept and Oct. to do maintenance, renovate and also to relax a bit while they can do so. As we go into the season, beginning in November, our guests will find most... More

Caravan Gallery has a wonderful selection of well priced jewelry. I recommend stopping in if you're looking for a inexpensive piece to remember your trip by.

We really liked Mongoose Junction! Difficult to describe - the architecture is very unique and creative. Lots of shade. In certain places they built around large existing trees. Go to the Tap Room and Ocean Grill (I think that's the place) to see what I mean. Mongoose Junction has a wide variety of shops: restaurants, pub, jewelry stores, clothing stores,... More

Great place to shop on St John. Short walk from the ferry terminal. Good selection of shops and restaurants. Prices are average to anywhere else on island.

Mongoose Junction offers a lot of things inside. Everything from food, bars, deli and of course shopping. We enjoyed walking through the shops. Lots of diversity between shops. Bought a couple of t-shirts and Christmas ornament. We ate at Sun Dog Cafe for lunch and it was outstanding.

Fair amount of options high end (meaning not just trinkets and shot glasses) for a small island. They have some restaurants, artsy stores, jewelry, island design type home decors nice variety. The friends of St. John store was fun because your purchase helps fund the National park and good prices there! And you can see the chickens walking around too!... More

Thanks-- so glad you enjoyed... The chickens are not shy and in the off season here, they tend to think they can make themselves at home. It could be worse, we have had donkeys! Crazy. Hope to see you again soon. More

I really liked this area due to I could shop the little shops and he could just hang out at the bar and have a few beers. The shops were cute and all really close to each shop so he didn't worry where I was. Fun time!

Truly, Mongoose Junction has something for everyone. There are four convivial bars, each with their own charms. Tap Room is a great place for a pint. At Ocean Grill, I'm thinking champagne and oysters. Viva Cantina would be the place for Taco and Tequila, and you can get frozen drinks at the Gecko Gazebo Bar overlooking the center courtyard. Thanks! If you take the "people ferry" from Red Hook, we are just a 5 minute stroll from the dock. Just make a left and stay on the waterfront. Thanks! More
