Captain Cleve is the best! He has provided my husband and me with a private water taxi from St. Thomas to St. John on several occasions, from both Crown Bay and from Red Hook. Regardless of sea conditions, the ride was smooth - arguably smoother than the public ferries. The rate$ are competitive, Captain Cleve is responsive during the booking process, and he was flexible when our flight was delayed. And, Captain Cleve is a really good person. If you are looking for a private water taxi between St. Thomas and St. John, i highly recommend Capt Cleve!

We comparatively shopped charters all over St. John and Captain Cleve had the best rates and the best reviews. We were not disappointed. We sent the guys fishing in the morning and they caught so many fish that they stopped fishing because they had too many fish. We did the afternoon snorkeling and hitting the beach and felt like we were on our own island. Captain Cleve listened to what we wanted and he delivered 110%.

We had a great day snorkeling with Captain Wacki and Local Flavor Charters.
He does a great job at dropping you off at the start of the reef and picking you up at the end so you don't have to swim back against the current.
Cpt. Wacki spear fishes with Captain Cleve so they really knows their way around all the local spots.
We saw the best reefs of our trip during our day on this boat.
Favorites included stops on Little St. James and Great St. James. These two locations had by far the largest schools of fish that we saw on the trip. The reefs were in great shape there also.
We stopped by Buck island to take a quick look at the wreck. My daughter really liked seeing this as something different.
We had lunch at lime out. That was great.
When we were pulling into Salt Pond Captain Wacki spotted a what looked like a large stingray. We hopped out and it turned out to be a big eagle ray that was feeding on the bottom.
The coral on the rocks in Salt Pond was very nice also.
We finished our day with stops at Yawzi point and a fishing spot near Reef Bay.

We did a full day (8 hrs) of snorkeling, swimming, tacos at Lime Out in Coral Bay, booze cruising and a beautiful sunset on the water. Capt. Cleve is well spoken, professional, fun, know his history and very conversational. We had just as much fun talking with him and learning about the history and culture of the area as anything and the snorkeling was great! Hadn’t even stepped off the boat, and we were already looking forward to the next day with Capt. Cleve! Next time we will do some fishing with him too!

Great time fishin with Capt. Cleve last week on a half-day afternoon trip. Boat was well-organized, well run, and the Captain did a great job for our group of 4, with only one of us being an experienced angler. We caught our fill of yellowtail snapper, trolling rapalas on 4 rods. We also boating a few barracuda, hooked up a smoker king for a bit, and fought two much larger fish, one of which busted off in the rocks and the other of which broke me off after very nearly spooling me. Great times, would absolutely book again.

My wife and went out with Capt. Cleve on Jan 2, 2023 for a half day fishing and half day snorkeling trip. We had an excellent time with my wife pulling in the largest fish she has ever caught. We caught plenty Yellow Tail snapper, horse eye Jack, and numerous other species. Capt. Cleve cleaned our snapper which we took back to our condo and had for dinner. We spent the rest of the day snorkeling a couple spots which was also a blast. Capt. Cleve was very professional and made sure we were comfortable and felt welcomed the entire day. He was more than patient with my "thousand questions" as I wanted to know everything I could about the island, it's history and a myriad of other topics. Capt. Cleve was pleasant, knowledgeable and you can really tell he loves his home. I have been on lots of charters and this one ranks right up there with the best. I can not recommend Local Flavor ad Capt. Cleve enough. We plan to come back and will definitely book with him again. Thanks.

Captain Cleve was awesome. A group of 6 of us visited St John and were picked up close to where we were staying. We caught a ton of red snapper and blue runners to take home the first half of the day and some other interesting fish we threw back. Captain Cleve then took us to some of the best snorkeling spots we have ever been to the second half of the day. He was so great that we called him two days later and luckily were able to book him for another half day. That day we went to the taco bar and snorkeled off the bigger boat Local Vibes. Will definitely call Captain Cleve again when we return, and we unanimously agree that it was the best part of our trip!

I booked Captain Cleve for a full day charter for me, my two married children/spouses for Dec. 22. We'd never been to St. John and Captain Cleve helped us plan and executed the perfect day. We did a combo of anchored and drift snorkeling at spots we couldn't drive/hike to and we circled the entire island stopping at Lime Out Floating Taco Bar for lunch. Captain Cleve was knowledgeable and friendly. He even printed out the menu for Lime Out to make ordering easier. We requested a later start so that we could end our day with a sunset where we also saw a rainbow. We all agreed, it was our favorite day of the week at St. John and we'll definitely be booking Captain Cleve for any future trips to St. John.

We had an awesome day fishing, snorkeling, and touring the coast of St John. Captain Cleve is an expert fisherman, and he runs his boat very safely and efficiently while keeping it fun an interesting. The day started with a cast net hauling in bait fish for the morning's fishing. Then off to the fishing spot where the action was non-stop. We were lucky enough to have tuna steaks for later and also released many other fish back to the sea.
After exhausting everyone’s arms reeling in fish we headed to a beautiful snorkeling spot on the south side of St John. We then boated to the Lime out for tacos and drinks. The food and drinks were great. Captain Cleve took us around the north side of the island for the return trip. The tuna fillets were cut while drifting around in the waters off of Caneel bay.
At Cruz bay we ended the trip and got ready for freshly grilled tuna steaks!
Thanks to Loca Flavor and Captain Cleve for a great day!

We had a terrific day with Captain Craig! His excellent boat handling skills helped keep me, the one member of our group who was prone to seasickness, happy. With weather that was windy and seas a bit choppy he managed to find sheltered secluded spots for us to snorkel. Along with his knowledge of the island it was a very enjoyable day!
