About
The good news: this world-class stretch of white sand and turquoise water is St. John's most photographed beach, which features a marked underwater trail for beginning snorkelers. The bad news: because of its popularity, it can get very crowded with cruise ship passengers and members of sightseeing tours.

Beautiful beach in the National Park
Beautiful white sand and turquoise water. We were able to snorkel, saw many fish and dive bombing pelicans. We were there in a rather windy day, but you can’t control Mother Nature.

    Blue Heaven
Trunk Bay truly is post-card worthy and one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Caribbean with its crystal clear, blue water. It was not crowded in April, and even if there were a lot of people, it probably wouldn’t feel like it because of how expansive and spacious the beach is. The weather in April was not very hot - it was very pleasant, averaging about 82-83F daytime. The beach is very clean and feels very safe, as does the entire island. Highly recommended.

    Pristine beach
Trunk beach is all it is hyped up to be. Beautiful white sand and turquoise water. Has restrooms, showers, food trucks, parking, chair rentals and snorkeling equipment. Because it’s a national park there is a small fee per person to enter. There is a ocean nature trail that can be followed when snorkeling. Highly recommend a visit.

    Plan ahead if you're parking
We were here for what I imagine is one of the busiest weeks of the year, Christmas to New Year. We attempted to go to Trunk Bay at 10 AM but the lot was full. So we went the next day at 7:50 - taking no chances! We were practically the only ones there until about 9 or 9:15, and then the lot was once again filled up. I think if you come in the late afternoon you can probably find parking. The views and water are extremely pretty, but in terms of snorkeling we enjoyed other spots more.

    Beautiful views!
For some reason I don't remember this beach as vividly. I think because by the time we took a taxi to this beach, we had already taken a ferry ride, walked a mile to solomon beach, hiked back, ate lunch and then hitched the taxi to trunk bay, so I think I was a bit tuckered out by the time we made it to the beach. It was beautiful. Probably one of the better beaches we visited, but we didn't spend a lot of time there.

    Definitely worth the trip.
Beautiful soft sand beach. It has everything you need for a day of sunshine, snorkeling and relaxing. Can get crowded but get there early and you're all set. There's beach chair rentals, snack bars, showers, bathrooms, etc. I found it to be very similar to Magens Bay on St. Thomas. The water is just superb and the snorkeling is some of the best we've experienced. We'll go back for sure. It's a lovely way to spend the day.

    Favorite beach in St. John
The best beach we came across during our whole trip. We went later in the day so can’t say anything about the food or drinks there. But the beach itself is breathtakingly beautiful and a perfect spot to watch the sunset!

    Beautiful
Breathtaking views. Nice beach. Ritz gave us chairs to take and that was plus. Bar and food available. Closes @ 4 as to bathrooms and water and I mean he was kicking everyone out. Taxi drivers in St. john and St Thomas are a pain but car rental outrageous.

    Most gorgeous beach ever
This was the most beautiful beach I have ever been to in my life (including the south of France)! Literally “stupid” gorgeous like straight out of a magazine. A bit of a haul to get there, but sooooo worth it! I wish we found it sooner in our trip. Cleanest beach and clearest water. Best beach of any USVI that we went to hands down. Plenty of space (lack of shade though). Everything closes at 4pm so something to keep in mind if you are renting chairs or needing a taxi.

Absolutely stunning beach! Must see if going to St. John’s!!!! Easy $9 open air taxi- driver stayed while we walked around. We will go back to spend an entire day. There are rentals for chairs ($10), snorkel gear and other water activities. They have bathrooms, showers, food and drink available for purchase. I believe facilities are open until 4:00 pm. National Park Refuge-$5 entry fee per person. Well worth it. Saw a mantra ray (?) and small nurse shark.

Beautiful beach. Great snorkeling. Limited shade. Very limited parking and needed to drive to the next bay and take shuttle.

We arrived after three and the crowds were leaving. Beautiful beach and snorkeling was pretty good. This beach did not get turned up with the storms. Keep and eye out for jellyfish. Lots to see. Cuddle fish and stingrays are there.

Paradise! This beach is so clear, you can see beautiful fish around your feet. It can get a little bit crowded but there are other similar beaches in St. John.

Trunk Bay is beautiful! A very nice beach to take your family to relax or just enjoy the water and view. However I’m giving Trunk Bay Five stars because of the water and the view but if you decide to visit the admission fee is five dollars children under 15 are free. They only accept credit or debit cards but still bring cash just in case there is a power outage. The bathrooms were not clean so if you have to use the restroom just be prepared. There is a snack bar chairs and tents for rent. Oh and there is no WiFi or internet service. So be prepared. Visit Trunk Bay☺️

Trunk bay is pretty good but you must get there early (8am) to get a parking spot and avoid the crowds. By 11 am the beach is filled with daily cruise visitors. Snorkeling was ok. There is a reef on the right which had some decent coral and fish. Didn't see any turtles or rays. Trunk bay is not a must see but if you are looking for an early morning beach it's not bad. Oh yeah, it's $5 a person to enter.

The back to back hurricanes in ‘17 really took a toll on the underwater park at Trunk Bay. In fact, it seems like the coral was damaged island wide and was not as prevalent as pre ‘17, This was our 5th visit to Trunk Bay.

Be warned: this is where the cruise ship excursions come to. They don't seem to stay all that long, but come in waves it seemed.

The beach is beautiful and there are shower and change facilities. Also a snack bar with adult beverages and food.

Snorkel trail was pretty minimal. Not lots to see, but that could have been due to the large amounts of people.

This beach is stunning!!! I could spend days there, the snorkeling trail is very interesting but beware there are micro jelly fish that sting. Other than that this beach is just out of this world :)

Beautiful but overrated - and overrun with tourists. Taxi loads of people being dropped off from the Westin made for a lot of crowding in the parking lot. Be sure to visit AFTER 3:30 or you have to pay to be here. It was windy when we visited so no snorkeling was possible the kids just liked jumping in the huge waves.
