Nice beach, parking next to the beach (and good amount of it). Not the best snorkelling spot, but you can see turtles.

Salt Pond Bay was my favorite beach on the entire island of St John. Calm and lots of great snorkeling. The hike down and back up is steep and rugged but doable. I am in my early 50's and in so so shape. Also a lot less crowded than the North Shore beaches.

We didn't have much luck snorkeling here. Very little coral, no sea creatures at all. Got there early so parking wasn't a problem but felt busy and crowded very quickly. The further to the right you go, the greater distance you have from the road so that wasn't an issue for us. Beautiful spot, just wasn't remarkable for us.

We have to visit Maho pretty much every day we are in St. John. We have been able to experience so many different interesting wonderful things. From seeing the sea turtles, sting rays, to just chilling on the beach or floating in our "clown train", you can't beat the calm beautiful waters of Maho.

This beach is along the road and you'd miss it if you weren't paying attention. There's a small parking lot across the road. If you want anything for on the beach you need to bring it on your own. It's a small beach but when we went in to snorkel we instantly saw Turtles and small sting rays. The water... More

Excellent beach that is well protected and great for snorkeling. Beautiful views, clear water, and restroom facility. Parking can be an issue since this beach is so popular.

Beautiful beach with good snorkeling! Parking lot across street on corner and easy access! The water is beautiful with many shades of blue and a Long Beach. We will definitely be back!!

I was here in November and again in December. In November I just stopped at the beach during a tour around the island. It was very pretty and had lovely soft sand. In December we came by boat so I had a different view and being out in the water we were able to see lots of turtles come to... More

Whatever you do, don't skip this lovely spot just b/c reviewers say it's crowded. We're so glad we went. Maho Bay/Beach draw plenty of people-- for good reason! They're spectacular. When we arrived at Maho, we knew we wouldn't have the beach to ourselves. It also started to drizzle just as our feet hit the sand. No problem! In USVI,... More
