The authentic Nassau old time haunt; Three stories containing artifacts, historical books, in this once upon a time jail. Great views from upstairs windows.

This is truly unique. Don't leave Nassau unless you visit this unique contradiction: A jail that has become a place of education, relaxation, and a museum.

It's an historic place, including being the first jail - you can read all about the history there. I usually sit by a window, enjoy the fresh air, and get completely indulged in a book. I also go here if I need to use the...More

This is a very old building which was the first jail in Nassau. It is now a library, which is like stepping back in time.

My wife and I enjoyed a nice vacation in Paradise Island, Bahamas. We went to the Nassau Public Library & Museum. The library is the largest library in the Bahamas.

You can still see evidence that this beautiful library used to be a jail. Sit, cool off, and browse the collection in this historic site.
