Worth the price of admission/ fun
Fun and interesting pirate museum. The walk thru pirate ship was informative as well as well put together in the various depictions of ship life. Great info signs with other displays that have easy to digest /retain bit of pirate history . Well worth the entrance price ! Spent under an hour walking through.

    Interesting and readonably priced.
The museum was easy to find and the entrance fee was reasonable! The museum had a lot of info and pictures on the white pirates but the sign stated that most pirates were black. We didn’t see any pictures or displays with people of color.

    Ay ay Captain!
This is a good activity if the weather is terrible or you really love pirates. Looks a little like pirates of the Caribbean ride. You can walk onto the ship. A little more information about life on the ship would be great. At $14 each my thought was a little expensive. It probably takes about 30 mins to go around the attraction.

An interesting visit on a wet day
It was a rainy day in Nassau, so my wife and I decided to pass some time by visiting the Pirate museum. It was actually very interesting to see, hear and read about the history of pirates and piracy. It was quite visual and had some good displays. If you are interested in pirates, then worth a visit. I only rated 3, as I thought it was a little expensive.

    Classic tourist trap
One look at this place and I knew it was a tourist trap. But with an hour to kill before heading to the airport and at a cost of just $14, I figured why not? The museum consists of a replica pirate ship and exhibits populated with life-size wax pirates. There is some effort to focus the content on Nassau’s specific history relating to pirates, but most of the informational content is wall signs with limited and very general information about the life of a pirate and a few notable pirates. The Museum is almost completely lacking in actual pirate artifacts until you get to the gift shop, which includes several display boxes with pistols, swords and items excavated from a sunken pirate ship. It is unclear why they put these items in the gift shop but my guess is they assumed few typical guests would be interested in them. The information and exhibits are so limited that it would be hard to spend more than 30-45 minutes here. I liked it for what it was, but the whole museum is badly dated, and it could use a refresh so it doesn’t look so shabby.

Worth the trip and doesn’t take all day.
If you like pirates, this was a fun museum to go through. Like other people stated, it isn’t very large and reading everything you can complete it in about 1 hour. Walking in was like walking into the pirates ride. They have a ship replica with a lot of signs all around telling you what each thing is. We enjoyed seeing all the pirates pictures with their flags attached and reading the pirate lore. I would go back again if we were in Nassau and the weather wasn’t nice.

    Worth the visit
Fun little museum especially if you like pirate history. Not a lot to do in Nassau so definitely worth the $14 if you want to get off the ship and stretch your legs. We were there for about 45-60 minutes taking our time and reading everything.

We were both very pleasantly surprise!
Wow what a nice surprise! We really didn't have anything planned for a cruise stop here and decided to check this out. My wife and I were both pleasantly surprise by this museum. The price was reasonable and they really put a lot of work putting it together. The ship inside there was really cool (the ac was too!). We actually took our time and read all about the pirates that operated in the area. If you plan on just walking around this is a great stop.

Learn the history of Nassau via a unique, interesting, niche museum
Historical perspective on how the city of Nassau came to be. (Hint: it started as a pirate refuge.) Learned quite a bit about pirate life and never realized there were female pirates too! Unique & interesting museum that’s worth a visit if you care to learn about Nassau’s history.

This is not really a museum, as there are precious few artifacts. Just a few rifles and swords. The rest are wooden sets with some basic effects. It costs a lot too, especially for what you get($13 per person). I don't recommend this place and I love museums. If the family is bored and you are there with cash to burn then maybe, Otherwise skip this, and spend more time enjoying some of the out of this world beautiful snorkeling sites, like Stuarts Cove or Blue Hole water-sports have to offer.

I really enjoy the history around the Golden Age of Pirates so this was a planned experience during our trip. Was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. It's a bit expensive but I thought they did a pretty good job making this interesting to history buff and others as well. The museum takes about 20 min to walk through and the settings could use some updating, but my family and I all liked it. Feel like there was some missed opportunities to make this more than just a tourist trap.

A great museum to learn about the history of piracy in the Bahamas. The displays are very well done and much bigger than I was expecting. I had a great visit here. They are currently limiting the number of people passing through due to social distancing, so expect a small queue outside. Great for families and couples.

We visited the Privates of Nassau Museum with our grandchildren on a recent trip to the Bahamas. The younger boys loved the whole experience. However, when we questioned them about what they learned they could not name anything. Our granddaughter was frightened by the noise and the darkness in a couple of sections.

My husband and I toured this museum yesterday. It was so much fun and full of interesting pirate history that we never knew until visiting this museum! It was all extremely interesting and presented in a really fun way for both kids and adults alike. Would definitely recommend this as a 'must see' while visiting Nassau/New Providence! The museum keeper (sorry, bad with names) was very pleasant and even recommended some local places for us to eat. We tried a couple and both were excellent (see reviews for Malone's and Athena's Cafe).

We had a lot of fun here! We were on a cruise with my 10 & 7 year old nephews. We were heading to the beach but I thought this might be a fun addition to our day. We all had so much fun! It only took about an hour & we were the only ones in the museum at the time so it was very atmospheric & we really got to take our time. The boys love creepy things so they liked the scenes with the pirate battles & sneaking onto the pirate ship.

I have been wanting to go to this museum for years, but each time I have visited Nassau I ran out of time. Finally made it on this vacation and I can honestly say it is something you should definitely put on your "must do" list when in Nassau. The exhibits are amazing and you really feel as if you are back in the 1700's during the golden age of piracy in the Caribbean. It is very kid-friendly too! We really enjoyed our visit.

Walked to the museum during a cruise stop. It is about a 10-15 minute walk and you will pass other small shops and a straw market along the way. Pretty much consists of displays of pirates in a scene of some type and written information about that scene as well as info about pirates. It is easy to walk through and can be completed in 30-45 minutes which gives you plenty of time to do other things in town if on a cruise ship. IMO, the $14 entry was appropriate for what was in the museum.

Thought there would be a some material related to the series "Black Sails" being in Nassau, but still worth a look if you're into pirate history.

Tried to decide what to do when we came into Nassau on a cruise and found this place. Very interesting museum to visit. Interesting enough the museum was slightly based around the documentary on the pirates of Nassau. Really enjoyed the information presented.

While the museum relies on mostly static displays, they are very detailed. It felt like a walking version of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Orlando. Plaques and panels describe the history and way of living of the famous Pirates who visited Nassau. Interaction is limited to true/false questions, but I only got about half correct, so I learned much more than I expected. The museum wasn't very busy and the restaurant & bar up front looked inviting. Something unique to do, Glad we visited.
