About
Enjoy a full-day excursion from Nassau to the idyllic Blue Lagoon Island, where you can swim with dolphins, interact with sea lions and stingrays, or even snorkel among native nurse sharks. There are plenty of other things to do here: join a Segway safari tour, swim in the lagoon, enjoy an eco adventure, or just simply savor some peace and quiet on an adults-only beach. A lunch buffet is usually included in your ticket, but lines can get quite long. Go all out with the Ultimate Animal Access pass, which includes roundtrip ferry transportation and lunch. – Tripadvisor

    Amazing beach and friendly staff!
I just returned from our MSC Seascape cruise and visited Blue Lagoon Island. The ferry that transported us to and from the island was great. Tito and Jamal were AWESOME!! Love their energy and entertainment. The beach was crystal blue and very clean. Definitely coming back again to explore some more of this beautiful island and beautiful people.

    Great time on the island
Had a great time at Blue Lagoon with my Fiancé. Lots of fun game for the whole family, hosted by Benjie and Carti. They did a great job of keeping the vibe going and lively. We would definitely come back!

    Great staff and beautiful beach!
We visited Blue Lagoon Island while on our cruise. The boat ride seemed much longer than the stated 25 minutes, but not bad. Only problem here was that we couldn't understand most of what the guide was saying about the homes and buildings nearby. Our ship was the second to arrive in port that day, so by the time we got there, all of the good seating was gone, so we ended up on the back row, but still had shade. Once the passengers from the other ship left, a lot of good seating opened up so we moved, but that wasn't until about 1:30 PM. I can't imagine what it would have been like with more than 2 ships in port! We did the dolphin encounter, which was the highlight for sure. The time in the water is very short but still special with these precious creatures! From my observation, the dolphins are very well cared for, and the staff seems to truly be connected to them and loves them. I overheard some others saying the same. The photos are pricey, but very good. As for the beach - so beautiful! I really liked the fact that the swimming area is large but the water never gets over your head, even after walking out a long way, and it's very calm. The water is so clear! I walked out to the rocks on the other side and found a school of large gorgeous fish hanging out around them with a sea urchin nearby. Didn't even need a mask! The food is pretty good - burgers had a very good charcoal grilled flavor. I think for the price you should be able to go back through the line, but it's a one time only. Their facilities are clean and include freshwater showers. Our only negative was the boat ride back. We were in a crowded boat with no open windows and it was very, very hot. They also played the music on the boat way, way too loud. Also, they return you to a different spot than where you board. They drop you on the other side of the terminal so that you have to walk by all of the shops, hoping you'll spend money there. Overall, I would recommend Blue Lagoon Island. It's a pricey day, but it's beautiful and clean and the staff is great! Just bring ear plugs for the ride back.

    Great Experience
We loved this place. I read reviews that seemed sketchy but we lucked out and we were the only ship in port this day so Blue Lagoon was not busy at all. The beaches were perfect, and the Dolphin experience was awesome. We did the picture package and got access to them within a day or 2. Only regret is if you're getting the pictures go the extra $20 or so and do the video. Looking back after the cost of the pictures I wish I would have had the audio and video of the fun we had. That dolphin encounter made our whole trip.

Dolphin swim was the highlight of our trip!
Our dolphin swim was the absolute highlight of our trip. It was me with my 11 and 8 year old children. The staff from the time we got on the ferry through our animal adventure, exploring the island, and purchasing photos was friendly and knowledgeable. The animal trainers were the best and clearly really cared about the dolphins. Zaniya was funny, engaging, and answered every question patiently.

    Shark encounter
Very enjoyable day on the beach and at the shark encounter. Ricardo was a wonderful and very accommodating host. Shark encounter allowed for plenty of time to snorkel and observe the sharks in their habitat. The educational experience and one on one with the shark was informative and an exciting experience.

    Blue Lagoon Island
I am truly thankful we booked this excursion through our cruise ship. Everyone was friendly and professional. We chose the Adults only side and it didn't disappoint! Upon arrival we were met with Bahama Mama's and beautiful smiles. The area was so quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view. It was not crowded which was a plus. Lunch food was good with lots of options. Bianca was great! She and the entire staff was very attentive and making sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely go back to Blue Lagoon Island on my next cruise. Worth every penny.
Hi M988DDtiffanys. We are glad that you had a relaxing day on our VIP Beach! It is a special place to spend the day. Thank you for visiting Blue Lagoon Island, we look forward to seeing you on your next trip.

    Dolphin experience, unforgettable
We went as part of the impractical jokers cruise and chose the dolphin meet with Randy. Man, it was such an unforgettable experience and Randy really ensured we had a great time. Not only was he extremely friendly and knowledgeable but you could tell he genuinely cares and knows the animals. The waters were SO blue, beach was nice and provided enough shade, bar was nice. Since we went in Jan it was emptier than usual.
Hi D976CUjosea. We are so happy that you had a great time with Randy in our Dolphin Encounter! The water colour really is something special, isn't it? Thank you for visiting Blue Lagoon Island.

    Peaceful and Beautiful
We went for our honeymoon in October 2023 and I thought it was absolutely beautiful. My husband was very sick that day unfortunately and just laid in a beach chair the whole time, but that was unrelated to our experience on the island. It was not crowded at all and it seemed like there was hardly anyone there honestly. I had a whole little section of beach to myself and it was extremely peaceful. We paid for the dolphin swim and I dragged my husband down with me although he was too sick to get in the water and laid on the dock, several workers offered him assistance and checked on him throughout our time there. The dolphin swim was amazing. I can't remember the name of the nice lady who was the dolphin's trainer or the dolphin's name, but it was a female dolphin whose mother and son were also there. Both dolphin and trainer were very sweet and fun.

    Best day ever!
My family of 5 had a blast doing the dolphin encounter, and then I did the dolphin swim after that as well! My swim with Laguna the dolphin and Celeste the trainer was incredible! I had a blast learning about the dolphins, and Laguna specifically. Also getting to swim with her and see her swim and do flips from in the water with her was really neat!! My husband and kids got to watch me - it was a wonderful experience!!

We booked this excursion for the Nassau portion of our Disney Cruise. Apparently, they either didn’t anticipate demand despite all tickets being bought in advance or they didn’t load the ferry boats correctly. About 50 people, including us, were left at the port without passage to the excursion. The team responsible for loading were frantically calling, trying to find “another boat” for us. After over an hour of waiting, we were turned away. We went back and spent our day at Nassau on the ship.

Disney was wonderful! They coordinated with Blue Lagoon to return everyone’s money and they gave us multiple free rentals on Castaway Cay, despite the problem having not been caused by Disney. They reiterated multiple times that this is unacceptable and would be addressed with the Blue Lagoon management team, as it didn’t meet the standards for a Disney sponsored excursion.

It turned out fine but I’m very disappointed that Blue Lagoon would so grossly oversell. I can’t imagine how absolutely packed the actual island probably was as a result. This excursion was an absolute bust, to say the least!

Hi aprilsX1555BJ. We are sincerely sorry for your experience. We were not overbooked that day and we do ensure that we have the capacity to hold all of our guests. Unfortunately, on that day two of our ferries needed to be repaired and we had no choice but to cancel some of our reservations as we were unable to get all of our guests to the island to enjoy a full day with us. We did issue full refunds to everyone who did not get to Blue Lagoon Island. Again, we do apologize for this unfortunate incident. We hope that the next time you are in Nassau you will consider visiting us so that we can give you the wonderful experience that we strive to give all guests.

Me, my wife, and 8-year old daughter did a five hour experience at the Blue Lagoon this week. We spent nearly half our time in queues for either the tender boats to take us to and from the island, for the crappy food and drinks, or for our sting ray encounter. For the latter, the staff provided no educational information on the sting rays that we were seeing (as advertised in the tour description). If we had not read the boards in the waiting area, we would have learned nothing. Our actual encounter with the sting rays was abrupt and more about posing for the outrageously priced photos than anything else. Felt like we were being rushed through the entire time. Another point of irritation was the lack of disclosure that no vendor on the island takes American Express. Thank goodness we brought cash otherwise we would have been screwed. I would not recommend this excursion to anyone else. In my wife's words, this was a total "s___ show".

Hi scottcZ4366ZJ. We apologize that you had to line up to board our ferry at the cruise port. It takes some time to get everyone together and ready to go. Lots of people start queuing for our ferries departing from Blue Lagoon Island long before they have arrived on the island - we are not sure why! Our team will make announcements when it is time to get ready to leave. We don't leave any of our guests behind :). We are sorry that you felt you received no educational information. It is really important to us that our guests learn about our animals, so we will explore how we can ensure that everyone is learning throughout our programs. We are sorry that you felt rushed. It is our goal to provide every guest with an amazing experience, and we are sorry to hear that we failed this with you. We thank you for visiting Blue Lagoon Island.

Firstly, the land crew is very nice and hard working. The lunch quality is good and plenty full. But this was not a VIP experience in any way. The tour was supposed to be 4 hours. We were asked to be at the pier by 7:30am. We got to the island between 8:30-8:45, and they let us know then that lunch started at 9:30am and we needed to be in the pier back at 10:30 to return to the boat because another cruise tour was coming at 11:30am. That really made everyone feel not on an adults VIP tour. Forget about lunch at lunch time and a having a leisure day at the beach. So in reality it was is 2 hours of travel and 2 hours at the site.

I did not participated on the animal encounters. But you can go and walk and see around. They have a raccoon in a cage that is pacing back and forth, and he is the saddest thing to see. The sea lions were in cages with tubs and also are the saddest things to see.

The VIP beach is a small inlet in the beach right next to the pier. So if you were hoping for a quiet beach this is not it. Is right in between the boats coming and the corridors for people to go to the animal encounters. The sand had not been cleaned. There were leftover children toys and a plastic hanger under our chairs.
The larger beach is in construction with sand being moved around. While I won’t disagree That maintenance May be necessary that was not noted in the booking. People should be able to make a choice to spend the day on a beach that is being dredged.
I had “lunch” or second breakfast and it was fresh and hot, with fried fish, chicken, steak, corn, rice, sweet plantains and salad. If you have gluten intolerance, you are out of luck.

Both boat rides did not narrated a tour of the bay. So that was also missing.

As we go back to tourism, this place has potential but right now I would be hard pressed to recommend the VIP beach experience at Blue lagoon.

My cost was $99 per person on an advanced sale with The cruise line.

Im trying to upload photos but keep getting an error.

Hi Annapowerpopi. There are set times for each ships visit to the island. While it is likely that another ship was arriving, that is not the reason that your group was leaving. That would have been your pre-determined departure time. The raccoons are rescues that unfortunately were not able to be reintroduced to the wild. They are extremely well cared for as are all of our animals. The sea lions have a large habitat that exceeds international standards - something that as an American Humane Certified facility we are proud of. Everything that you mentioned in the buffet minus the fried fish is actually free of gluten, so there are many options for those with an intolerance. Thank you for visiting Blue Lagoon Island.

Short & Sweet synopsis ~ Burgers, Fries, overpriced drinks, not enough seats, and someone constantly interrupting the music, yelling over microphone

Meh, it's a small, shallow lagoon with rocky bottom

The lunch is burgers, fries, rice and chicken

Drink price menu doesn't match what they charge and then say its a built in service charge. When I challenged her on it she couldn't explain why a beer and a margarita were $21.50. Rip off! Don't tip them anything extra

Couldn't relax and enjoy music because of the water obstacle course and the same “iphone DJ” person was the events emcee. Music always interrupted trying to get beach goers to participate in games that no one wanted to play

Not enough beach seats for the amount of people they allow on the island. There were plenty of extra seats though that you could rent for an extra fee.

Once you're on the island you're stuck on the island so you're at their mercy. Then they cram you on a boat with a few hundred people but insist you get squirt of hand sanitizer before you squeeze next to a stranger.

Bathroom were clean

Visited the Blue Lagoon Dolphin encounters as an excursion through our cruise line. Our experience was disappointing. From the time we assembled on the dock at the cruise ship, to the boat ride there and progression through our booked events, most Blue Lagoon staff were rude rushed. In our observation, they treated us like we were a burden, yelling and being very short in their responses. We were to leave the cruise dock at 0930, arrive at the island, see the three events and have time to do some snorkeling before we had to leave by 4pm. Instead, they did not leave the dock until after 10:25 am, arriving at the island and debarking shortly after 11 am. We were to be at our event 15 minutes prior to start. Our events started at 12pm, 1230pm and 1pm, but each were delayed. It seems like they were backed up and pushing things forward. The staff invests a lot of time in taking your pictures during each event so they can charge you a big $$$ at the end. Over 50 pictures (mostly the same) and videos for each person cost for total bundle $150. I would have rather stayed on time and enjoyed each event less rushed. In the end, they had to cancel the last event, because they were running out of time to clear the island of cruise ship folks. The assembly time for the ferry back was at 2:45pm so no time to really do anything else after the events. In addition, the snorkeling side of the island was closed. Given there were 4 cruise ships docked at the same time, I believe the island was overwhelmed with passengers and the staff was inadequate to operate all the events or open up other parts of the island that are normally available and advertised. As far as the weather and water conditions, it was perfect! We paid $215 per person for a disappointing experience and burned up all our time at Nassau . Based on our experience, we will not be revisiting this location.

This was our second time doing this excursion. The first time back in 2019 was great. This time (Aug. 2022) we did not have a good experience. After a very slow 40 minute boat ride over, we arrived and there were already guests from 3 other ships there. Area was very crowded. Of course the only chairs available were way down the beach. The attendants only then began putting up additional umbrellas and chairs. If they knew we were coming, why not have this stuff already up and waiting. The staff we encountered at the "restaurant", gift shop, life vest rental area and help areas were all very rude. Barely spoke, never said hi or thank you. We were also made to pay $22 to get a life vest and use the Inflatable. Once my daughter entered the Inflatable area we found that alot of the handles on the Inflatables are broken and she was unable to even get on anything. The line for lunch took about 45 minutes to get our food. So after the time on the boat ride to and from the ship and waiting in long line for lunch, that left us about 2.5 hrs to enjoy the water. Won't be going back again

This place is a nightmare in the Caribbean. Went there as part of a shore excursion with Royal Caribbean. I can’t even begging to explain how disorganized it was. Theo picked us up 2 hours late, the staff was rude… when we finally got to te island, there was no place to sit they only had places that you had to pay extra for the day. The food was DISGUSTING after a 20 minute line we got undercook chicken with a cold burger. The staff looked tired and pissed.

We were supposed to be there for 5 hours, but we basically spent 4 hours waiting waiting in lines and trying to find a place to sit.

If you do the animal shows, they animals look mistreated… the dolphins even show sings of abuse.

This is probably the worst place in the Caribbean to visit. I strongly recommend to avoid AT ALL COST… specially is you are with a cruise, because they don’t take responsibility for the service they provide.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your day with us. We do deal with multiple cruise ships every day and while we may run a few minutes late from time to time due to circumstances beyond our control, I’ve got no record of us being 2 hours late, unless your ship arrived or was cleared later than scheduled. We do provide more than enough free lounge chairs in all of the guest areas for the guests coming to the island. There are clamshells on certain beaches that are available for an additional price, but under no circumstances do we make guests pay more for a basic amenity included in their package. As an American Humane certified facility, we take grave exception to your insinuation that we engage in any form of animal cruelty. Our all-natural marine habitat exceeds international requirements in terms of size and provides our beloved marine mammal family with an extremely enriching existence.

We just did this on Wednesday and WILL NOT do it again!! Only 3 hrs (plus 1 hr pre-arrival for unorganized waiting to board shuttle and 45 minute ride back to arrive at 2:45pm when our excursion was designated to be from 10am-3pm.) No chairs but they had a big section of "reserved" empty chairs all day that apparently were for nobody, sat on our towels on the ground with ants and someone's empty Corona bottle. Staff was not able to help us and kept passing us on to another worker who couldn't help. My son has walking difficulties and finally a 1/2 hr before being herded back on boat, they said we could walk down 2 beaches to find chairs! $399 for 3 hrs with our family of 6 and totally disappointed. I know this is not a typical experience, but was told it was because there were 5 ships in port that day. But it's NOT my problem that Blue Lagoon chose to sell to the extent guests could not have the experience they paid for! If you book this excursion, look to see how many ships are in port first. Free beach for us next time where I will gladly pay and GET chairs and an umbrella like I was SUPPOSED to be getting with the charges for this excursion. Lunch was included and consisted of hot dog or hamburger. Had Carnival submit a complaint and still waiting to hear if Blue Lagoon will respond.

We are truly sorry to hear that your visit with us did not meet your expectations. We have checked with our team to see what was happening the day you were visiting and have confirmed that we had no delays in our ferries from the cruise terminal over to Blue Lagoon Island. As for the departure, we do have departures from our island that take you back to the cruise terminal leaving at 1:15, 2:15 and 4:15. Guest Services would have advised which ferry would have been the last one you could take to arrive back at your ship in time for departure from the port. Please note that per the descriptions listed on your ship’s site, the total time does include the scenic ferry rides through historic Nassau Harbour. We have more than 1200 lounge chairs on the island for guest use. We also provide umbrellas free of charge to ensure that our guests are comfortable and safe from the sun. The block of chairs you refer to were on Princess Beach and that area had been paid for and reserved by a private group that was arriving a bit later in the day. However, on Lagoon Beach, stretching from the arrival dock all the way around the bend to the bridge, as well as on Pirate’s Landing across the lagoon and on North Beach we have more than enough lounge chairs for the number of guests who were on island that day. We do ask guests who require special assistance to advise Guest Services when you check in so that we can get your party set up in some of the chairs that are in fact reserved for guests who aren’t able to walk long distances. We apologize that your need wasn’t identified by our team. As for the included buffet lunch, we offer guests the choice of a hamburger, chicken burger, veggie burger or hotdog. It also includes a piece of bbq chicken. We then have an array of side dishes including Bahamian peas n rice, wedge French fries, corn on the cob, a number of hearty salads and all the dressings for the sandwiches. Thank you for visiting Blue Lagoon Island.

This company is incredibly shady. We bought the VIP package to swim with the dolphins, spend the day at the beach, and use the aqua park. When we got to the island we had to wait in a long line to get a life jacket for the inflatable aqua park, only to then have to wait for a while for a manager to help us since we weren't given the correct wristbands by their staff for what we paid for. The inflatables are mostly deflated and not tied down, so they are impossible to get on and enjoy.

The dolphin swim has a strict no phones policy, which I understand as they want to sell you their photos and videos. However, the business was aware their system had been hit my lightening and no videos were being taken, but did not allow us to take our own videos. The pictures of my family on the surfboard swimming with dolphins don't show a dolphin in them at all. Without a video those images are awful and just looks like kids on a boogie board. The actual interaction was great, and the trainer we worked with was great with the kids. However, the photos aren't uploaded to the site to purchase until a week later (when promised 48 hours), and when you purchase them it doesn't say that the logo for the company stays on the images. I assumed it was part of the watermark that was on them, which would come off once purchased. It takes another week for purchased photos to be emailed to you, so two weeks later I find out the pictures I wanted to enlarge and frame to hang up will forever have some cheesy logo on them. You can't crop it out since it is on my son's head.

Calling the company or reaching anyone is nearly impossible. They do not respond to messenger, nor do they respond to emails. The woman at the reservation number hung up on me when I asked to speak to a manager about the logo on the photos and when finally connected to someone, they say the logo on the picture is their policy and it can't be removed.

For the price and customer service, I would suggest going somewhere else. There were several other companies that do the same thing at the same port, so I would suggest someone a little more credible.

Overall, this place is beautiful. The "included" meal was ok. However, we were pretty much dumped and left on our own to figure out what was what here. The getting to the island was disorganized and the workers acted like they were clueless to an organization process. We stood for close to an hour before being herded through a crowd to the ferry boat. Coming back off the island was even worse. There were 4 different groups of people coming off the island at the same time. There was no speaker system so workers were hollering out directions that were not clear and people were coming from all directions to the ferry ramp. It was chaotic to say the least.
Through no fault of this tour, our time was limited due to our ship arriving late which meant we only had about 3 hours to enjoy the beauty of the island, which also meant for squeezing in as it was only served during set hours. We had no time to enjoy the marine habitats and animals that were part of the tour. I think this could be an enjoyable experience as it is beautiful there, but some work needs to be done on the overall experience.

Hi newbern2016. We apologize that you felt like you had to figure out what was on the island. We do have many guest services team members (just look for the orange shirts!!) floating around the island to guide you and answer any questions that you may have. We are sorry that it took a while to board the ferry. It sometimes can take time to get everyone off of the cruise ship and ready to board our ferries. We do have a sound system on the island that alerts guests when it is time to board, however we do also have guest services members on the dock to make sure that all guests are boarding the correct ferry. Its a shame that you had limited time and didn't get to enjoy the entire island, hopefully you will be able to come back again for a full day to really take advantage of the entire island. Thank you for visiting Blue Lagoon Island.
