Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Make sure to check out his lovely beach with sugar sands, turquoise water and black coral out croppings. Banana Bay restaurant is located by this beach.

Went here as part of a tour, went to Gold Rock beach first which is heaven on earth, we weren't happy to be leaving to come here but were pleasantly surprised, the water is calm, clear and shallow, you can walk out to the sand bank, excellent beach for kids, there's also the Banana Bay restaurant for snacks, drinks and facilities, a truly beautiful place.

We visited this beach multiple times during our trip (and we weren't staying near it). Other reviews talk about it being busy or crowded, but that wasn't the case in the slower month of September. The sand is powdery soft. At low tide you can walk really far out on the sandbar -- I enjoyed just sitting in the water with a pina colada (purchased from Banana Bay restaurant). There is very little seaweed and the water is gorgeous.
I don't know that I would love it as much if there were a lot of people here. We shared the beach with only a few other couples and it was incredibly peaceful (with the exception of the 20 minutes one of the other couples navigated a noisy drone over our heads to capture themselves and the water).

They profiled me. Customer service at the front desk was awful. They didn't even offer an upgrade. I changed rooms 2 times just to make myself comfortable. And money wasn't an issue. The only reason they got a 2 for review was the bellman was the best.

We went here two days as it is a beautiful beach. Banana Bay is nearby. Easy parking areas as well so access is nice.

This stunning beach has a large sandbar that extends more than 50 yards off-shore. Once again, there is beautiful turquoise water and white sand with green palms and trees as a backdrop. There is also a restaurant on site with good food and drinks and covered outdoor seating.

This is my new favorite beach in Freeport! You can walk out for over 200 feet. A very relaxing beach day for young kids or anyone who just wants an easy beach day. There is a restaurant and easy parking less than 50 feet from the beach. It’s almost as pretty as gold rock beach, but you don’t have to walk through the Mangroves to get there. You can rent a chair for four dollars. There is also an outdoor shower. Truly my new favorite Freeport beach!

Very nice. We stayed at the Viva Wyndam - and used a car to get around - including to get to the Dive Shop: Sunn Odyssey Divers

An excellent beach, white sand and a gently shelving into the sea. Great for swimming and taking daily walks. Further along the beach is Banana Bay, where the water is lovely and warm and very shallow, great for children :)

Cost of taxi from cruise port to this beach ? Round trip .. how’s the fishing here on top of the rocks ?

What kind of shape is this beach in after Hurricane Dorian? Is the Banana Bay restaurant open and in good shape?
Written 25 November 2019
Is Fortune Beach a public beach? Is there any entrance fee? How far from the cruise port is this beach? Are there taxis readily available to take you back to the port? What is the taxi fee and distance from the port? Can I rent beach chairs from the vendors on the beach?Thank you!!
Written 12 July 2019

We have a 2 year old. Is the water shallow and calm?

Would it be hard to get a cab back to the cruise port? Our ship will only be in port from 7 to 1:30 so I'm also wondering if it would be worth a trip for just a half day or should we go to a closer beach? Thanks in advance!
Written 21 March 2019
There is a great restaurant right there and I’m sure they could call you a cab. I think it would be worth it since it was my favorite beach.

Are there lounge chairs and umbrellas to rent? We are not interested in getting a tan

We will be cruising with kids next month and are looking for a nice beach without spending our one day in Freeport at resort. This beach sounds perfect. Is it close to the cruise port and what is your recommended mode of travel?
Written 30 July 2018
I wouldn't say it is close to the port - perhaps a 20 minute cab ride. There was a female cab driver by the name of Lynette that I actually also hired by the day to take my friends and I all over the island. I wish like heck I could remember her last name but I lost her card. She is on Facebook if you want to try and find her. She is extremely trustworthy and also punctual when you arrange to meet her at a specific place and time for the return trip. Have fun. You will enjoy Fortune Beach.

Are cabs available from the cruise terminal to Fortune beach? Going on Fri, definitely want to check it out.
Thanks

Cabs will take you wherever you want to go. Yes, they can take you there. Good luck and have fun.
Written 20 June 2018
The only restaurant on the beach was Banana Bay, they served a variety of dishes. Can't really remember if there was anything without meat or seafood, we went there for the conch.
