We stopped here for an amazing sunset and a chat with Etta Stubbs (who my Husband is convinced was gorgeous in her youth!)and had a couple of cold Kaliks on Her rooftop deck.

This is the place that defines the Cat Island experience the best. Completely laid back, perfect view, cold Kalik (serve yourself and catch up with Grammy when you're finished). We didn't stop on our first time by because it didn't look like it was "open." However, as with most island places, "open" and "hours of operation" are loosely defined terms--it's... More

I agree, of on Cat island you need to stop at Cocktails by the Sea. The view is breathtaking, the beer is cold and wonderfully refreshing and to top it of a meeting and talking to grammy is something to remember.

This is a wonderful place to sit back and have a few beers. If you time it right you can watch from the rooftop deck the 345 airplane coming in. Grammy seems to be a Cat Island institution and all travelers should stop by and say 'Hi'.

You must stop by for a couple of beers at Grammy's. Grammy can tell you all about the island, and she is a pleasure to talk to. When we stopped by we were the only guests - she does not mind If you serve yourself a beer from the refrigerator. Take a few moments to go up the stairs to... More

Stopped by Grammys CockTails By the Sea for cocktails while en route to The Smoke Pot for a little Rake and Scrape. The view is amazing, and the drinks are cold and reasonable. Grammy was there in attendance, and told wonderful stories, but watch out! She will tell it how it is! Catching the sunset there should not be missed.... More

Cocktails by the Sea is owned by Grammy, an octogenarian native of Cat Island filled with great conversation. The location by the sea in quaint Arthur's Town is amazing, and the views are spectacular. There is a rooftop deck that is great for watching sunsets, and there is quite a bit of seating right by the water so that you... More
