Rock Sound was on the way to the Ocean Hole. We stopped and took a few pictures but found better beaches off the beaten path. There is nothing like having a secluded beach here!

For cruisers, Rock Sound offers great all-around wind protection and the comforts of a small town with a grocery store, available fuel, and some nice restaurants.

We were excited about our visit to the Bahamas but hope that we just chose the wrong island. If all Bahamas' islands are this run down the tourist trade will die. It appears that many of the locals from this island have left to find...More

While visiting on Eleuthera, we also went to Rock Sound Caves. Walking through the bush, taking pictures along the way (and hoping didn't get lost - LOL), we made our way to the caves. However, I am not fond of heights and going down the...More

Rock Sound is not a tourist destination. It's a hometown that happens to be able to carry both the needs of tourists and the life of the residents. There's a small airport and a very good market. If you sail, you'll find a great cove...More

Rock Sound is a small laid back community about 30 minutes south of Governor's Harbour. It has the BEST grocery store on the 110 mile long island! We love Rock Sound!
