Spent a morning with my family visiting the Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve, Eleuthera's first National Park. The park, a gem of the Bahamas National Trust, is beautiful, from the native plants it showcases to the thoughtfully laid out trails and elegant waterfall, freshwater wetland and other features. Take time to get oriented when you first get to the park... More

A great way to learn about the native plants in a beautiful, natural, forested setting. Trails stretch over boardwalks through the mangroves as well as trails through the forest. The walk to the tower is fun and ends with a spectacular view - well worth the trek. And it's obvious the staff love what they do.

Couldn't stay long but Leon levy preserve and the staff were just so welcoming. Got a little intro and a map to guide you and then you're on your own to explore the different labeled sections. Beautiful grounds and a nice way to learn about the environment of the Bahamas besides enjoying it's beautiful beaches.

We enjoyed our walk through the plants. The trails are well maintained and the plants are well labeled. There was a great view from the tower. The young woman who welcomed us was very knowledgeable. This was one of the highlights of our trip!
