This one of our first stops on our tour of the day! I was a bit nervous at first knowing I would have to dive down to go inside but it's just like diving down in a swimming pool and going under a person . You can actually get in the grotto without going underwater but going underwater is 100%... More

Try and avoid the crowds but if you are lucky enough to get this place to yourself it is magic. Beautiful snorkeling and incredible light coming in through the top of the cave. Well worth a trip!!!

Thunderball Grotto is one of the coolest snorkeling experiences you can have. Find out when slack tide is, finagle a boat, make sure it's anchored up really good, dive in and enjoy. There's two entrances, one on the north side of the little rock island, one on the south. We anchored up on the south and you dip under the... More

It was included in our itinerary for the day so passing on this would not make sense - let me warn you though; the currents around the grotto and inside while exiting are super strong, do wear fins! and also if you aren't a good swimmer or you had too many beers do not do this as the peaceful water... This is a beautiful experience. I consider myself a good swimmer. You must go at low or slack tide. The current is strong. I would recommend fins. Many in our party could not make it in even in low tide. But once in the grotto after an exhausting swim, I was glad I had done it. Getting out was much... More

We were taken here by 4C's Adventures, who are one of the best companies to do these kind of tours with. Its definitely a unique experience swimming through the caves to get to the Thunderball Grotto, the current is kind of strong sometimes but for me that was what added to the fun. I didnt realise that you can actually... More

Tie your dinghy to a mooring ball in front of Thunderball Grotto and jump into the water. A short swim puts you at the entrance to the cave. I'd recommend only going at low tide. If you do, you'll swim into the grotto and have daylight above you. If you go at higher tide, the water is above the cave... More

Excellent spot for snorkeling and exploring. Cliff diving in two spots as well. Kid friendly and not too far from the pigs!

Spent three days anchored just off the grotto on the Staniel Cay side of the island. There are openings to get into the grotto on both sides of the island. Most of the tour boats drop off their passengers on the more open side of the grotto and based on the current when we were there, that's a good thing.... More

We stopped here on the excursion with Robert's Island Adventures. Due to the current we were only allowed to stay in the grotto for less than 10 minutes which was a huge disappointment. But I trust their opinion on safety and respect the decision. It's so beautiful and I would love to visit again on a better day.
