Myself & friend came here for a Spa day. On arrival the carpark was not clearly signposted so I drove to what looked like the Carpark in the left but had to turn around. I drove into the next entrance and it was still unclear where the Carpark was, the road was narrow and uneven & I scratched the underneath of my car. It was difficult to drive down parts of the road due to cars parked outside their holiday homes. I then drove straight the Carpark as it was not signposted so again had to turn around. The road leaving into the Carpark is very poor and again I scraped under my car. My friend arrives after me and also couldn’t find the Carpark and drove past it. We had to walk past holiday homes to get to the spa. The spa itself is pretty basic, very small ice room, small str room with a very wet slippery floor and a tiny jacuzzi they fits 2. We walked downstairs and expected a jacuzzi and all they was there was a cold swimming pool, no beds to lie on or anything.
The treatments were the next part and the staff were lovely. I had a massage and a facial, both were outstanding so I felt totally relaxed and loved the smell of the Elemis products. We were shown to the restaurant but were disappointed by the food as it was very basic & tiny portions so we left feeling hungry, my chicken skewers were over cooked and difficult to but in to and see with the smallest amount of salad it was more like a side dish.
This place is in a lovely location and has so much potential but left us disappointed. The. Hanging room is tiny & the relaxation room is very basic. No fault of the staff as every single one of them were lovely & they do an amazing job of the treatments, the rest of it is in great need of improvement including the road surface & signage.

Unfortunately not a full body massage more of a very gentle rub. My husband was asked how he liked the pressure I wasn’t. I said 3 times”don’t be afraid to press harder”, she did for about 30 seconds then returned to just a gentle rub. I asked to focus on my shoulders and lower back but because there was no pressure involved neither area felt any better. At the end I was told I should of had a deep tissue massage. It’s a shame the therapist had an inability to cater for individual needs, perhaps she was inexperienced but unfortunately I left feeling tense not relaxed. My husband had a lovely experience

Had a fantastic massage here the girls are so nice helpful, friendly made us comfortable only bad point was the spa facilities, the steam room not working, the ice room is at the wrong temperature we run a refrigeration company so we know this. No shower near the sauna you have to go down stairs to shower not very nice after the sauna. No toilet paper in toilets or hand towels the place is a beautiful setting such a shame, but would go back for treatments the GIRLS make this place.

Worse spa in a long time. Sauna is a tiny shed for two in the corner of a gym. We were both embarrassed to walk passed sweating people working out.

More like standard council owned swimming pool and changing rooms and massages well total waste of time and money.

The facilities at Celtic Haven spa are extremely disappointing. I visited last week and having booked treatments at 11, was told to arrive at 9am. When we arrived the pool was closed until 10am, the sauna was about as warm as my living room and the steam room was freezing, the seats were actually too cold to sit on. It was such a disappointing experience. The hot tub has been removed and so in terms of facilities, I don’t understand how Celtic Haven can view their spa facilities as a relaxing experience.
I had the ‘December Offer’ massages which included a hot stone back massage and mini facial and my massages were lovely and the massage therapist was friendly and professional but the facilities really let this venue down. I enjoy spa days and do not feel that it is worth spending money visiting here.

Hello Kathryn J, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your recent visit at our spa. We are sorry to hear that you have left feeling unsatisfied regarding your experience at the spa. We have taken your feedback onboard regarding the facilities and will use it to try and deliver a better service in the future. I am sorry that the pool was not immediately open on the day of your visit, this was the result of an unfortunate staffing issue regarding the lifeguards and not reflective of the usual opening hours. I am glad that you were able to enjoy the treatments you received despite the other issues encountered and am once again sorry that we did not live up to the standards that either you or I would have expected. We always strive to deliver an enjoyable experience and it is very disappointing to hear we have fallen short on this occasion. The Spa Team

My wife and I had amazing massages from Sophie and Lauren. I had a deep tissue massage and my wife had the well-being massage. We came out floating on air and feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. We both felt wonderful and are most grateful to our masseuses for their kindness and expertise.
We were so impressed with how well we were looked after; they were gentle, caring and soothing.
Thank you for a really special experience; it was absolutely lovely.
We enjoyed it so much that we immediately rebooked!

Over booked so facility use was minimal. Swimming pool closed on arrival for 1 hour because lifeguard was on lunch. Treatments cut short by 15minutes.
Relaxation room is a room where people just talk quite loudly and when rang and spoke to 3 different therapist, waited on a manger to call for 3 days still not spoken to them but a leanne who has advised we are lying an the therapists are correct.

Disgusting customer service and a waste of £170

Dear Kirsty, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your visit to the spa. We appreciate all feedback, even when it is difficult for us to hear. First, I would like to apologise for the fact that you have not enjoyed your experience at our spa. Our team always works hard to give the best possible experience and it is disappointing to learn that we appear to have fallen short on this occasion. I am sorry that your time in the relaxation room was diminished by one of the clients being loud. Had we been made aware of this at the time then we would have sought to have had quiet word with them requesting that they are respectful of the other guests. I am also sorry to hear that you felt you could not make maximum use of our facilities. As I understand, our team has offered for you to come again and to use the, to make up for this – please know that this offer remains open to you. Again, I would like to apologise that you feel we have fallen short of the high standards both you and I would expect of our spa, it is not the sort of experience we wish our guests to have. Kind regards, Joe, Celtic Haven team

I will start with the positive, the staff here are very welcoming and lovely, very helpful and understood our concerns/complaints, we had our money back for the spa package that we were suppose to have with no hassle at all!
But I do think people need to understand that the facilities here are nothing like you see on the pictures and are not very luxurious at all. Changing room had no lock. Sauna not hot enough, not enough room to relax, and the swimming pool is really not a spa experience, gives more of a butlins (back in the day) vibes. Swimming pool was full of young people and a lifeguard on his phone!
Steam room had a really funny smell. Bathroom really needed an update!
Im sure this place could be amazing with some work. I cant comment on the treatments as we left before even having them.

Dear Llinos Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback regarding your recent visit to our spa. We are sorry to hear that you feel you did not receive the experience you had hoped for and that the spa facilities were not up to the standards you had expected. Generally, the feedback we receive is very positive so it is disappointing to learn that you do not feel the same way. That said, we will take your comments on board to try and improve for the future. Concerning the swimming pool, it is important to note that this is a holiday resort and sometimes guests may also be using the pool. However, we do our best to try and ensure that these groups do not coincide with one another when possible and apologise that this did not happen on this occasion. Again, thank you for taking the time to review your visit – we will use your feedback to try and improve our service in the future. Kind regards Joe, Celtic Haven

I persuaded my friend to use a day of her limited leave to join me in a relaxing spa package at Celtic Haven. We arrived and were asked to complete an information form about ourselves which we did before going to have (a very nice) lunch in The Waves restaurant. The staff there were lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed. So we had high hopes for the spa.
We changed into our robes and the receptionist, Betty, showed us around in a polite if brusque way.
We then prepared to relax and began in the hot tub.
The moment it started to bubble, a layer of scum came up and an awful smell, mixed with a very strong chlorine aroma hit us hard to the point I actually retched and got immediately out of the water. Then we noticed the scum line around the side of the tub, so we had a swim instead. The sides of the pool were (no pun intended) swimming with water and it appeared it is rarely mopped.
The whole place needs a clean. As someone who has a hot tub at home, I am very aware of what a breeding ground it is for germs and how important it is to keep areas like this clean.

Then we enjoyed a sauna before moving to the spa area.
We were told to relax in the relaxation area and would be called for out treatments.
I was called first, leaving my friend relax. As I returned to where my friend was, the brusque receptionist was standing almost over her and was finishing a conversation with the words ' I will have to speak to someone more senior' before leaving the room.
My friend was clearly upset and began to cry. When she had calmed she explained that the receptionist had said that she had Googled my friends health condition and Google (side note: who needs medical professionals when we have a receptionist who can Google??!!) had told her that my friend is allergic to nuts and as our chosen treatment was made of cocoNUT (plenty of emphasis on the 'nut') she wouldn't be having a treatment today.
My friend tried to explain she does not have an allergy to nuts, but apparently Google knew better. She also told my friend she is allergic to milk, which again she isn't.
Now, I understand that it is better to be safe than sorry and I also understand that the health of the client is paramount, but 1. Wouldn't it be a good idea to listen to the client
2. There are alternative treatments that could have been suggested
3. Disclosure forms are a good idea
4. Google is not a qualified health professional
5. Rude staff are not excusable

We cancelled our treatments and got changed. I myself spoke to Betty and suggested that she could have handled that far more sympathetically and she became very defensive and rude to me. When I pointed this out, Betty felt I was attacking her!! I think not!!
She later made a half hearted attempt at a barbed apology, but the damage was done and my friend left before becoming upset again.
Katy the therapist was lovely and apologised profusely.
We will not be setting foot there again.

The receptionist who is such a Google expert needs a crash course on customer service, and the spa area needs a good clean.

Dear purplespottedpenguin, We are so sorry about this extremely difficult and sensitive situation which has clearly caused a great deal of upset for you both. We fully appreciate it was very disappointing that we were unable to deliver the spa treatment your friend had booked and was looking forward to. However, once we were made aware of the severity of her health condition, we had to make the decision we felt was in the best interests of her welfare. When it comes to people’s health, there is simply no room for error. Had we continued with the treatment knowing the severity of the condition and had it caused a severe reaction (or worse), we could never have forgiven ourselves. We have a duty of care to our clients so your friend’s welfare was our top priority. Many of our products contain common allergens such as nuts and milk and we felt the risk was too high to go ahead with the planned treatment. I understand that researching the condition on the internet was felt to be insensitive but, as we’re not medical professionals, we needed to understand the terminology. We would like to sincerely apologise if any of this came across in the wrong way; this was in no way Betty’s intention when dealing with this very sensitive situation. Betty is a senior member of the team who takes her role very seriously and she has also been quite upset by this incident. We feel extremely sad if this has given a negative impression of Celtic Haven but I hope you can understand that our clients’ health and safety has to come first. Had we known of the condition at the time of booking we could have looked into it more and advised if we were able to accommodate her. Unfortunately, we only learned of this on the day which meant we had to make the best decision we could at the time, which we still feel was the right decision. I know it’s only a small gesture given your huge disappointment, but we’re pleased we were at least able to offer you both a complimentary lunch, drinks and use of the leisure facilities, and that you were still able to enjoy your own alternative choice of treatments. We would like to thank you again for choosing Celtic Haven and we’re just very sorry and saddened that we couldn’t deliver the relaxing spa experience you were both hoping for. We would like to apologise again for the upset this has caused but we wish you both the very best. With kind regards, Sarah
