having NOT been for over 45 years its surprising how little changed this lovely beach and "village" is...not many shops but a lovely beach, a couple of cafes, small supermarket type shop, the little railway that still runs from one end of the village to the far end (overlooking Barmouth)....what a joy...windy day but a joy to be back. This was a lovely pebble beach with great swimming and practically deserted. There was a cafe nearby which sold ice creams and drinks. There is also a steam railway. The local convenience shop was populated by odd people who were rude and dismissive. Take beach shoes!

So unspoilt this is a little piece of heaven. Pebble banked beach with 2 miles of sand and hardly a soul on there ! Stunning views of mountains meeting the sea. If you like candy floss and shoulder to shoulder sun bathing this is not for you . Walk down or catch the miniature steam railway to Penrhyn Point and... More

We stopped here for a picnic after arriving via the Fairbourne railway. It is a wonderfully clean and expansive beach with pebbles and sand. There weren't many people around at all (for saying it was the summer holidays) and we could see Barmouth beach from where we sat which looked much busier! It was so peaceful and we managed to... Plenty of space to take your dog whatever the weather especially at Penrhyn point. Make sure you avoid the treacherous though and have the dog on the lead near the river

Fanastic beach to go to. Pebbles as well as lots of soft yellow sand. Also, you can take the dog for a walk and run in and out of the waves or jump over them. Well worth a visit!

we have been onto fairbourne beach many, many times with our dogs. all the times that we have been, even in the height of summer, there is always lots of space to enjoy yourself. when the tide is in, there isnt too much sand left to walk on, but when the tide goes out, a huge exspanse of sand awaits.... It was my Heart Transplant 5th Birthday and every year we write my Heart birthday in the sand in houour of my donor & their family for this amazing gift. Fairbourne beach was just the place for this special celebration. We will definately... More

We have been several times on visits to North Wales and love this beach. Great sands and a wide expanse, it is often very quiet out of season. It has enough facilities, but fortunately not too many and these are set back, which means it retains its natural beauty.

large pebbled beach difficult to walk on until the sea goes out and then you can enjoy the expanse of a large sandy beach
