One to visit
Apr 2018 • Family
After a pleasant stroll along the sea front from the car park to the end of the pier, we decided to have lunch in the Penrhyn. The menu has a wide range of delicious dishes to choose from and it wasn’t long before we ordered the pizza twists, jacket potato with cheese and beans, jacket potato with prawns , steak baguette and bowls of lovely chips, the salads that accompany the meals are just enough but it’s the quality and quantity that I was most impressed with. The staff are very friendly whilst the ales are well worth tasting too. The bar also offers a range of drinks for the kids and coffee and teas for a winter warmer. If you are taking the kids, then keep a few pounds spare as the 2p drop machines are a favourite for the kids. The pub is kept clean and tidy and is a credit to Fairbourne. So if you are passing or staying near by then please pop in and enjoy.

Lovely place for a drink and food
Jun 2017 • Couples
Set on the corner of Beach Road and a stone's throw from the beach this little amusement arcade is not just a place to amuse the kids but over the past year or so the owner has developed it into a lovely bar with seating both inside and out. If you want a place to go that serves a decent pint - our favourite is elderflower by purple moose, this is the place for you. They sell decent bar food as well, lasagne is my favourite although you can get a range from a burger to a steak. Nice clean toilets and oh not to forget a wide range of ice creams - yummy. Sit outside on a lovely sunny evening or inside by the wood burner in the winter.

Holiday family meal
Apr 2017 • Family
The amusement arcade is attached to the Penrhyn Inn so this is more of a review of the pub. During a family holiday in Fairbourne, we initially called in for a drink after a walk along the beach and soon realised that the pub was a dog friendly restaurant. The next night we had a great family meal there with our border terrier sat under the table. The staff are very welcoming and the food was great. The minted lamb burgers are highly recommended.

A very welcome hot meal on a grey foggy damp sunday
Feb 2017 • Couples
This was our 3rd visit to this lovely pub/ restaurant it was quite busy too so a good sign fortunately there were a couple of empty tables ,being a sunday there are only sunday roast meals being served during the lunch time untill early evening then the wider choice menu comes back ,we ordered the roast beef dinner, we didn,t have to wait too long for our meals to arrive ,on each of our plates there were ample slices of beef ,a yorkshire pudding (not a Small one ) roast potato ,mash potato ,sausage in bacon ,a stuffing ball and then we were brought two dishes of red cabbage cauliflower cheese ,greenbeans ,peas and roast parnips and carrots more than ample for 2 people and a jug of gravy ,the food was pipng hot as were the veg in the side dishes as weree the dishes themselves and the gravy and the plates our meals were on were hot too we can,t bear cold plates as the food soon goes cold .The staff who brought our food to us were very pleasant and made sure we had everything we wanted before they left us our food was very very nice . Our meals were £9.95 each exceptionally good value for what we were served ,there was a choice of puddings too but we were full so sadly had to leave pudding out but they all sounded very nice . If you want a nice sunday roast then this is the place to go it is clean and tidy and has seating and tables out side and for the amount of food you get its well worth a visit we have been on other days and had food from their other menu and we really enjoyed that too . our only criticism was that there was a young lad walking back and forth through the restaurant in a chefs jacket that was very creased looked like he had slept in it not a very good look if trying to look professional

Lunchtime pint
Nov 2016 • Couples
Walked 4 miles to Fairbourne from Barmouth & as the Penrhyn bar & grill was open we thought we would pop in for a couple of pints. As they have a good selection of ales, my wife couldn't decide whether to have a beer or her normal lager. As you can imagine on a wet November Sunday morning, there wasn't many people in but when she asked if she could have a little taste of one of the real ales we were surprised by the barman's reply of "I'm not allowed to give tasters, we give away too many pints to the tourists"
As we are ex publicans & not tourists, we were looking forward to stay there for quite a while but we decided to drink up & leave so we could get back to our local pub in Barmouth where he should visit for a lesson in good bar management.
Shame really, as it's looks a nice place!

The best steak in area
Jul 2016 • Family
We have during this year been 5 times once lunch time and four times early evening dogs are allowed in one area (not good in my opinion) but the quality of meat is brilliant
For beef burgers to steaks and pies, they are open during winter Sunday lunch time also
License bar, well worth a vist if you are anywhere near.
