    Well worth the long drive
Karen was a very friendly and generous tour guide. Some interaction with the guys doing their job would have added to the experience. Very friendly relaxed atmosphere in the gift shop which was well stocked. Plenty of reasonably priced souvenirs. Quite a challenging drive up from Glasgow on a wet and windy day but well worth it. All in all a great experience

    Great little whiskey distillery.
Fantastic whiskey distillery. We had a tour and tasting session with Julie. She was very welcoming ,knowledgeable and informative. The whiskey was good as well! The only negative is that there is no cafe on site, where you could get a coffee and a snack. Otherwise we had a nice afternoon.

A great experience. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Booked a tour. We made up part of a small group and that worked really well. Our guide was knowledgeable and accommodating for us English, Germans and French that made up our party. Great tour and long enough to learn and fully experience all about the process along with the history and sampling at the end. Lots of help from guide to find the right combination for myself as a beginner and new to whisky tasting as well as finding what worked best for me to take home. Great visit. Very enjoyable. Would advise booking ahead so as not to be disappointed.

    Thoroughly enjoyed!
A really great experience during a recent visit to Ardnamuchan. The distillery is definitely worth a visit and the guided tour was excellent. It was interesting to see the production of whisky at the distillery. Ricky, the distillery tour guide was informative, knowledgeable, friendly and fun. It was lovely to sample the whisky afterwards and the shop had a nice range of quality merchandise and products to avail of.

Maggie’s Cottage & Taste the Story Tour
This review is for both a stay at Maggie’s Cottage, which sits on the distillery grounds, and the Taste the Story tour, which was free for those staying in the cottage. Maggie’s Cottage: What a gem! I don’t know if it’s newly opened or something but there’s little info on it as an accommodation choice in Ardnamurchan. That’s a shame cos it’s perfect! There’s a kitchen with supplies (although you’ll need to bring all food and drink yourself bar tea and coffee), a living room, very modern bathroom and comfortable bedroom. The bedroom has two single beds, as we are a couple without kids I don’t know what arrangements can be made for those with kids. They also allow one dog guest! Honestly, it was a perfect base for exploring Ardnamurchan. They booked us onto the 3pm tour and checked us in straight afterwards (no need to worry about drinking and driving as it’s on the distillery grounds). The track to the cottage is a little rough though. We had a lovely time! Taste the Story tour: We got it for free as part of our stay, but even if we’d paid it would have been worth it. At only £15pp it was one of the best, and yet cheapest, distillery tours I’ve done. It was so comprehensive and detailed but interesting at the same time. Our guide Niamh was incredible and made the tour a real highlight of our trip.

On our touring adventure of west Scotland, we came across Ardnamurchan Distillery and decided to make a stop to have a look around. Caren took my husband and I on a tour. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions patiently. We were very impressed by the bio ethics of the distillery. The cost of the tour was well worth it, especially as we had a wee dram in a complimentary souvenir glass to conclude our tour. The end product is highly recommended and I’m not usually a whisky fan, but it is super smooth!

A fairly new whisky distillery but one that is clearly set up for producing the best flavours they can, and with great passion. The tour guide was exceptional, offering the most informed guide I've ever been on, all delivered with wit, great knowledge and passion for the liquid amber, finished off with a tasting and visit to the shop for an inevitable purchase. Highly recommended tour.

The experience and hospitality provided by Ardnmurchan distillery and staff was simply exceptional!
From first entering the distillery, being greeted by "DJ" to the actual tour and tasting of this incredible whisky provided, it was truly phenomenal from start to finish. Offering an almost hand tailored tour it was perfect for us to skip the knowledge we already know to leave more time for our bombardment of questions :)
The whisky is in my opinion one of the best in the world coming from such a young distillery. Cant wait to return!

Came upon this wee gem on our way to Mallaig from the ferry at Kilchoan and out of the blue the Pagoda roofs appeared, did not do a tour as one is much the same as the others, it’s a newish place but the product is up there with as good a whisky as you can get for a young or aged whisky. The guy in the shop was very friendly and knowledgeable about anything we asked in his role and it was a great visit with a couple of bottles in tow. Clean fresh and new (the Distillery) in amazing countryside on the Ardnamurchan Peninsular on an 18 mile rollercoaster of a single track road and worth a visit for scenery and a warm welcome,
Definitely worth a visit again.

We visiting the distillery as we wanted somewhere indoors due to the weather being so bad. I love whisky and have done quite a few distillery tours in the past, so I was interested to see a relatively new distillery.

We we're the only two people on the tour, I was told that it's very quiet this time of year (January) and they don't get many visitors. Whereas in the summer months they are usually fully booked. Despite this we got a warm welcome and our tour guide Karen was ready on time.

The tour was OK. Karen was lovely but clearly not feeling well and this seemed to effect the tour. We really struggled to hear her for much of the tour, she also kept asking us if we had questions and as we were struggling to hear we never really did, it all just felt very awkward. She also mentioned several times that she doesn't like whisky. For me the best tour guides are passionate about their subject and enjoy talking about it, Karen sadly did not. Despite that she was very knowledgeable and had a very good understanding of all the processes.

The distillery is also looking a bit tired on the outside, this seems very odd as it's only ten years old. I think it just need a bit of paint to freshen it up and make it look a little more presentable.

The whisky was OK, not really to my taste but certainly not bad. They are still a very young distillery so I am sure the quality of the whisky will improve in the coming years.

Overall, it was an average tour. It's very hard to get to so I wouldn't travel a long way to get there. But if you're staying in the area it's ok to for a rainy afternoon.

For personal reasons we took a day trip 100miles north from our home to sample the spirit on offer at this Young (2014) Distillery and was not disappointed.
Arriving over 30minutes before our tour was due to start we engaged with the staff in the shop and learned about places to eat nearby and other information on various aspects of the Peninsula.
Our tour started on time and our guide was the very knowledgeable Karen who was more than happy to answer I multitude of questions about the spirit and its production. A tour that was due to last 45minutes lasted over an hour as Karen sought out other, just as helpful, staff to expand on her knowledge.
The distillery is laid out in a very compact fashion which prevents any long distances between the warehouse (first stop) to the tasting area at the end although there are stairs that are necessary to allow proper investigation of the various items incorporated in the tour.
A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours spent with n excellent host who injected humour in her delivery of information. Thanks is also due to all other staff who we encountered who enhanced an already excellent experience! Make sure you purchase the latest bottles of Mat on offer at the distillery as they are very difficult to get hold of elsewhere due to the small batches available at this time!

We visted the distillery earlier this week. Karen was very informative and accomodating, and had a good sense of humour.
A quiet day so just my husband and I, so a very personal tour.
Enjoyed the whisky, and getting a wee tasting glass is a nice touch.
Would highly recommend this distillery in such a lovely part of Scotland.
