Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The castle offers very little to see, especially compared to the costs:
10€ only the garden (partially open), 15€ Garden + Castle and Guide. In addition to the very few rooms present the owners have thought well to sell armor and weapons that are then the defensive icon of the castles and everything that defines an era. The Ruspoli stories told there, albeit brilliantly by an excellent Guide (really wasted), are reducible to the bone and devoid of interesting war or family contexts.
No mention of the paintings of the rooms except the frescoed vaults.
You want to monetize the little and nothing although the only pearl is the story of the conversion of Saint Jacinta itself touching and absolutely significant, with attached relics and a dress of one of the converted followers of his movement. I do not comment on the garden because I would have preferred to see Villa Lante in Bagnaia.

Very impressive and beautiful castle from the outside, which disappoints once inside. The rooms that can be visited are falling apart as they have not been well preserved which is a shame given the historical importance of the castle. The garden on the other hand is enchanting, very well looked after. It's a shame that you can't also visit the secret garden, but they only let you see it from the terrace.

So often when you visit the grand palaces of Italy, you wonder about the individuals who once schemed, hated or loved in these rooms. It is so much more interesting than the artworks which adorned the walls. We felt enormously privileged therefore when one of the direct ancestors of this castle told us with humour and verve something of the history of her family, some of whom were quite notorious in their time. This was during a buffet lunch in which we could luxuriate on sofas or chairs watched over by portaits of some of these notables. If only the gentleman with the black eyepatch could come back to chat with us: he would I feel sure have had a much more interesting past than the Hathaway man or Brenda Starr's mysterious boyfriend. I hope that you can arrange a private viewing, but irrespective the palace and garden are more like a luxurious family home than some dull monument to the past.

This is a medieval-Baroque castle in which the Ruspoli still live (they have another castle in Cervetri), though several cultural events occur within it during the year. There's a lovely, largish garden one can also stroll through. It's a bit off the beaten track but there are several places in the area to take in in a day's trip with a car: the villa at Caprarola and Roman and Etruscan ruins at Sutri. The roads going up to the castle and within Vignanello and narrow and windy, so unless you're brave, don't take a fat SUV and then also have to search for parking. Plan to come from somewhere closish by: the traffic coming up and back from Rome can be awful (on the Cassia bis).

This is a private medieval castle - it is in the Ruspoli family and you would be every so lucky to have a private tour or spend the night! This is a perfect setting for a grand event, or a photo shoot...the renaissance garden is spectacular and was truly a surprise ! A must see on your way to Bomarzo or Spoleto in the summer when the garden is open on weekends (please check).

This place is absolutely amazing!! A very well maintained historical castle, which comes to life with all the beautiful decoration which makes you feel in a historic fairy tale that takes place some centuries ago. On top of this, the gardens are absolutely stunning.
What an beautiful site, highly recommended!

We were here as part of a group and had a very informative tour of the interior followed by a good tour of the garden, which included meeting the head gardener. We felt most welcome.

I was very surprised by the size of the castle and for its gardens: really special! We visited the second floor and it is hard to believe people actually live there. It is kind of spooky! We were told guests stay in modernized rooms.

Full ticket of 15 euros certainly expensive for what is offered.
Well done guide (mandatory guided tour) Marina.
Few visitable environments of moderate interest but without any peaks.
A much celebrated and well-kept garden but absolutely overrated.
In Lazio there are Castles and Gardens of much greater importance.

I noticed that Castello Ruspoli's website lists suites that seem to be available for overnight stay. Is this a new feature? Does anybody have any experience to share?
