This was our second round of golf whilst visiting Northumberland and very enjoyable it was too. The staff were very helpful when I phoned in the morning to ask for an alternative tee time as we did our best to avoid inclement weather. Immediately we were offered an earlier slot, which turned out to be a blessing weather wise and because it looked very busy with 4 balls, where as we were just a 2 ball. This is a lovely links style course and it proved a little difficult at times with little or no course knowledge, sometime hitting blind over targets / hills etc. I didnt have either a course planner or device on my phone so I know for next time. The course was probably a little hillier than I anticipated and the 5th Hole driving from the top of the hill is beautiful. There was a substantial amount of 'love grass' Ill leave that for you to decipher :-) but suffice to say once in it difficult to locate your ball, however Ill caveat this by saying it did not spoil the experience for me or Mrs L, who to be fair is a somewhat novice golfer. The course was in excellent shape and the greens very good indeed, fairly speedy with some tricky undulations. Holes 4 through 13 are more or less right on the coastline offering some spectacular views, especially around 12 and 13 in the shadow of the castle ruins. We had planned on only playing 9 holes, however due to the 9th being a fair distance from the clubhouse we ended up paying up and including the 11th before taking the footpath that runs the entire length back to the clubhouse. This probably turned out to be a good call as the windy was really picking up and rain approaching. Car parking is a little tight but if you are an am starter Im guessing not a problem we just noticed that when we got back to the clubhouse around 11:30 there were little or no spaces left. Finally I felt it was also great value for money at £48 for two people, considering the location and the standard of the course.

It was lovely to see the golf course welcoming walkers off the beach to come for drinks, sandwiches etc and welcome to use the loo. They had a separate dining room for golf club members. It became a habit to stop for a drink each day after walking on the beach. Plenty of tables outside.

Six of us called in here for breakfast. We ordered bacon rolls, sausage rolls and a bacon and egg roll with hot drinks. The lady who served us was friendly and helpful. The food didn't take long to arrive. We all enjoyed the rolls very much. The food was well cooked. My bacon and egg roll was pretty perfect and tasty with lovely fresh bread. The drinks were fine. Everything is in takeaway containers at the moment. We thought the prices were reasonable and would return.

Popped in on walk from Craster to Beadnell. Food is very cheap, £4 for Aberdeen Angus burger and same for chicken burger. Both served uncooked and burger was all veins, gristle etc, simply vile. It was a cheap burger, not Aberdeen Angus. We fed to the dog and got money back off chicken burger. I don't know why they just don't charge £2 more and invest it it the produce, same margin. The food is simply slop.

Has to be one of the most beautiful links courses in the uk. Cycled on paths along its edge for the whole length of the course. Beautifully kept fairways and greens. Amazing views of the castle to the south especially as you get to that end of the course. Lovely place.
