One of the finest beaches in Northumberland. Overlooked by Dunstanburgh Castle at one end and by the village of Newton by the Sea at the other.

We visited after Storm Erik when the winds were still blowing a gale, but the beach walk was stunning and very invigorating.

Wonderful sandy beach. Dog friendly. Beautiful. I don't know how safe it is for children but for walking it is brilliant and you can walk along the dunes to Craster or to Low Newton.

What a brilliant place to go for a walk on a cold winters day! Beautiful sandy beach and stunning scenery and you can walk for miles. Northumberland at its very best.

What endless sand and beach, long and beautiful! It was cold and breezy but the temperature did not detract from the walk one bit. Highly recommended.

White sand and fantastic view of Dunstanburgh Castle, close enough to walk to the castle, arguably one of the loveliest beaches you'll ever see and the water is so clear. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

You were right- just needed to go on through the golf course and there you are! As others have said, there are other approaches - you could try from Low Newton-by-the-Sea or from Craster and walk along the shore or just... More
