Went one Sunday morning with daughter and grandaughter, visited the cafe at the start of the walk up to Brean Down, there was a competitve run up the steps to the top so we went for a pleasant walk along the beach and watched the...More

My husband and I drove for an hour from where we were staying to visit the seaside and as Weston was the nearest decent beach, that was where we headed. However we soon began to reconsider our options being faced with loads of people, tacky...More

I have visited this place in a rainy morning, when I spent some time in Clevedon. It is not too easy to access anyway, as only small, narrow mazy roads lead there. But it worth!!! I have rarely seen such a beautiful place like this...More

Brean down is a great walk if you are visiting Brean. Although bit of a climb the steps are well maintained and the paths not too challenging. It it quite exposed on the top route so I would recommend going when its not too windy...More

Bream down is a lovely walk if you are fairly fit or have all day to wonder up to the top. You can avoid the steps and take the old military road if you prefer.

It's steep and there's a lot of steps so beware if you have mobility issues, although there is apparently a slope-way if you don't fancy the steps. The views from the top are superb. We walked all the way to the fort at the end...More

I visited Brean Down yesterday and have always paid for the parking but as we took out membership with the National Trust we parked as normal in our usual car park. This morning we noticed a slip of paper underneath the back wiper asking us to pay the parking in the shop. Now confused as I was under the impression it was free for NT members or did we park in the wrong car park? Is the NT car park the smaller car park on the right or the larger one on the left? Never used the cafes so not sure which is Cove Cafe.

As long as your NT windscreen sticker is displayed, it is free parking for members in both car parks. I left my initial application for membership on my dashboard until I received my card and sticker. If it happens again... More

Yes the car park is free for NT members, and as pointed out previously you need to display the parking sticker. It can get very busy at popular holiday times. It is also possible to pay and park on the beach. We tried the... More
