This is a quiet beautiful place, amazing clean sea and a great place for snorkelling. But it is way too crowded. At times we were kicking or getting kicked by someone or the other. Photo enthusiasts not helping much too. But the natural beauty is something that nobody can ruin.

Lots of tourists, all on the same space on the same time. It is impossible to have some own initiative. Swimming is great (though you try to avoid other tourists as there are to many as mentioned), but snorkeling is just putting on your snorkel and not seeing a things. (Almost) all the coral has dissapeared and we have not... More

Beautiful island accessible from Ao Nang through long tail boats as well as speedboats. The long tail took almost an hour to get there from Ao Nang so if you're pressed for time take the speedboat! Offers great snorkeling and kayaking opportunities

A beautiful island, a real shame that it costs 300 baht on top of the tour to step foot on the island when it is rammed with tourists! Do not go here if you want good snorkelling it is far too busy and the water is churned up.

Beach is nice. If you come for snorkeling, NO. Nothing much to see. Water clarity low. If you come for sun bathing, NO. Too crowded. If you come for kayaking, YES. Worth a try. Other than this 3, I don't know why you come here for.

We visited in high season (Christmas time) and I cried for the saddening impact mass tourism has on this otherwise beautiful place. This beach is part of a natural park and can only be visited as part of a day excursion, which includes 4 stops. All of them are overcrowded with longtail and speedboats. So the beautiful natural bay is... More

The hong islands national park and hong lagoon is a nice place to chill for a day near Ao Nang krabi. The park entry fees are 300 Bt/person and the island is accessible only by water. The snorkeling area is marked but beautiful. One of the USP of this place is Kayaking. They charge 500 Bt for a kayak for... More

One of best islands near ao nang. Best to rent your own long tailed boat from the coop on ao nang beach for 2000 to visit Ko Hong or 2500 for two additional islands. The main beach near park HQ is beautiful and good for swimming and snorkeling. The mangrove lined lagoon in the centre of the island is a... More

We took a tail boat to Hong Island. Ideally you should start early by 8 am. The lagoon is the first one you will be taken too. It is between tall rocks that you see all around in the ocean. The entrance is dramatic and once you enter it, you will even be more pleasantly surprised. Watch out for: 1.... More

If you are going mainly for snorkelling, don't bother. Water clarity is very low, not much variety of fish or coral. The tours are overcrowded. About 15-20 boats land up together on the small island. The only saving grace is the beautiful topography.
