Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lake Jiuli, a definitely dreadful place to o visit. After about an hour drive from the city of Putian and a lot of turns up and down the mountain, you have to leave your car about 2km away from the lake. After that you either take a mini bus or you walk for almost 15 minutes. Too much noise and a lot of garbage on the way to finally pay 50 rmb and walk another 15 minutes before you arrive in front of this "famous lake". Most of the water has dried out (we are in February) and there is not a single sign of life swimming into it. I wouldn't try to even taste the food from the outdoor kiosks as the lice is so obvious over the hair and the clothes of the locals. Too much noise for nothing...

This place is scenic! Not sure how crowded it gets other times of the year but we came on an afternoon and only a few other families were here. There is an entrance fee but it's worth it. The path and steps are well paved. It's not easy to get here - the drive is a bit long from Putian or Xianyou but the drive it quite scenic itself. Worth it if you have a few days in the area or if you simply want to be in nature!
