This is a must do hike. We walk over from our hotel and walked the trail. There are a lot of steps, trees and ocean views. As we were ending the hike we saw about twenty monkeys waking by us. When we made it to the end, there was a beautiful beach. On the way out of the trail, there was a guard to make asking for a Vaccine Card, make sure you have a copy on your phone. (This is only required to visit the beach, not the trail). It took us probably about 15 minutes one way. I highly recommend doing it.

It‘s worth walking for the Pai Plong beach on the other side (my fav beach over here, not counting Railey and the islands). I‘ve not seen monkeys so far... At low tide it will be easier to return on foot by sea.

Wild Monkey's. Be careful if you go witb small children. Monkey's bite and scratch. I think they only go for my wallet, not my cookies lol

This was the only land access from our hotel to Ao Nang beach, town and restaurants, so we traversed it quite a few times during our stay.
The views from the highest points are spectacular, especially as the sun is setting, and the monkeys are often to be seen in the trees along the route, sitting on the bamboo handrails, and even walking up the steps.
The less good aspects are that the monkeys will snatch your bag or anything you're carrying, the steps and handrails are very rickety and a fall could be nasty, and it's hard work being long and steep in places. When it's dark there are lights along the way which would be adequate if they all worked, but the monkeys have been playing with some of them so they don't. Worth bearing in mind when deciding whether to have another Chang with your meal before heading back.
Where the path ends at Ao Nang beach there is the delightful aroma of what is basically an open sewer running straight into the sea. It's black and smells really bad.

In Poor repair, it certainly wouldnt pass OHS standards on a normal property. A hazard for elderly or young people. A nice track though

The walk is fairly easy and leads you to a beautiful beach next to Ao Nang Beach. Fun to see the cheeky monkeys :)

you need to be a monkey to manage this trail between Centara Grand beach and Ao nang. No OSH ability here rickety wooden step ladder up and down the steep bits , path is ok but really build a concrete path for your workers and guests to walk the 500 m to AOnang

We didn’t follow the trail because it looked lethal and you can do the walk along the beach when the tide is out. Lots of monkeys with babies in the trees and some hijacking tourists with food coming down the trail

No monkeys at all in the monkey trail. However the beach at the other side of it was so nice. The walk to it is a trek

We have gone through monkey trail. But there are no monkeys at all. It is very tight and dangerous. Some parts of it is not even fixed to anywhere. Be cautious!!
