    A different type of city for sure

    Architecture is Dutch wood frame houses black sand beaches from copper mine tailings. There are numerous places to stay cheaply. Lots of street food. Visited 3 times last 2 years. Accessible by ferry from mx by ferry..which is a hoot. Takes 12 hours.

    Old wooden buildings give this town and old wild west charm. Bustling community due to the mining. Best bakery in the area!

    Driving

    Be careful of traffic signs. Last week I was in an accident where another car ran a stop sign but they blamed the whole thing on me. We have pics of the cops actually removing the stop sign in question.

    Las Casitas Hotel, above the Sea of Cortez

    If you can get one of the Casitas perched on the cliff above the Sea of Cortez you are in for a delightful evening of panga/whale/bird watching from your own patio. The casitas are clean and comfortable with a great view. Probably need a car...More

    Las Casitas Hotel
