Tourist strip just like First Street ... not the best place to visit Ensenada if you want a good impression! Too many hawkers yelling at you about going into their bar or buying their merchandise.

This area is a great shopping area. Lots of souvenir shops, as well as restaurants and clothing stores. The people are very friendly and a lot of them speak great English.

This is a street full of great craft markets and more! But the best vendor on the street is the man who makes copper wire sculpture. I love these items. My favorites are the Hermit Crab (white), the little frogs, the amazing lizards and the 2 items I bought years ago from the same man….the cactus with marbles and the... More

Being Mexican, bilingual, and a seasoned budget traveler, I enjoy Avenida Mateos for what it is and what it's not. It isn't real Mexico. It's a place where tourists can feel safe and speak in English for the most part. The food is good and there are some venders selling some very well made, high end merchandise. On both counts,... Busy, noisy, but when we were there, lots of stores just weren't open. Don't know if it was because cruise ships weren't in port or what, but aside from the heavy auto traffic, it seemed quite dead.

I have had many massages, and this is one of the best. Ladies, there were 3 of us that had a massage on January 8th. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday. The facilities were clean. The staff was friendly and professional. We all filled out a form with a front and back picture of a person for us to indicate... More

My husband and I visited Ensenada on Nov 19th. We were aboard the Princess Golden which stopped here for the day. We were told by our cruise director that there were no taxis to take us within the cruise terminal and that we needed to take the shuttle. We paid $2 per person to ride a shuttle, which they waited... More

We stopped in Ensenada while on a cruise and opted to visit the shopping district. Having been to many border/tourist towns in Mexico it was what I expected. There are a lot of shops all selling the same stuff, so be sure to shop around before buying. And don't pay for an "excursion" to the street, it's about a half... More

We walked here off the cruise ship because it was the closest thing to do in Ensenada. It was exactly what I was expecting of a Mexican tourist shopping street. You get asked by ech shop owner to come in and look at their "Almost Free" wares. After you have been in two, you have seen everything that this street... More
