Go during the week if you can, it gets a bit crowded on the weekend. Lovely spot for wading, and if you climb around the corner (through a spot that unfortunately is often used as a bathroom) then you're on another beach, and on the way to the rebuilt balancing rock (La Honga I believe). Past that you can keep... More

One of the most beautiful beaches we've ever visited. The water is so clear and pristine. So glad we had the opportunity to vist this most spectacular setting. A word to the wise...check the tide charts before you go. The second time we went the entire bay was almost empty of water! We still had a good time but not... More

We spent several hours at this beach - the beach is really beautiful and it is fun to hike up the rocky parts for beautiful views of the beach. The water was very clear and shallow for a long stretch - we enjoyed walking in to the beach in the clear waters. Highly recommend this beach if you are in... More

This is a short drive out of La Paz but well worth it. When we arrived it was a bit busy but the beach and the water was very, very clear. The hills surrounding the area were very dry and brown which provided an excellent contrast to the aqua colored water. There are a few beaches around this bay, two... More

We visited Balandra Beach while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas. The 4 hour round trip was well worth it. The Beach was beautiful and clean. We made some great memories there.

You have to hit this beach just for the stunning photo opportunities! Make sure you go right around the corner to the right, walk the beach on the other side until you get to the Hongo. But beware little stinging jellyfish in the water, and we are pretty convinced we saw a shark on the far side of the Hongo.... More

Beautiful, remote, awe- inspiring. Water is crystal clear. Great for snorkeling. Shallow water for kids.

Best part of Balandra is the short hike up the rocky hills for beautiful views of the sand and water expanse. The bay area that Balandra is in is very shallow, so the tide level (in or out) make a huge difference in the look of the beach area.

The sand is soft, the bay is shallow and walkable, and palapas line the beach. Claim your spot and enjoy warm sun and cool breezes in Baja while your friends shiver up north! When the tide is coming in wading birds fish along the rocks...white ibis, egrets, herons...all having dinner while people walk around them. A great place to spend... More
