It is an interesting museum. Small but worth the visit and it was nice to have this kind of attraction in this area. We found it fascinating.

My husband was able to read the Spanish sufficiently for us to understand what we were seeing. The political, religious, ancient, and later historical exhibits were all well done. I had hoped to purchase something small in the gift shop, but it offered only artwork...More

Mostly closed for remodeling. The guide we had was good, but I was there with grandkids and a little disappointed.

We went to this museum because the Lonely Planet gave this supposed anthropology and history museum a glowing write up. Don't believe them. It was the most disappointing visit to a museum in our lives. Three stories of dilapidated exhibits with no signs or information...More

Nothing fancy, but a nice little history of the area, etc. Unfortunately it was 1/2 closed when we were there due to hurricane damage, but would be worth the visit when fully open.

Interesting history of Mexico and the Baja. The staff speaks little English, so brush up on your Spanish!

The museum is a mixed bag of various exhibits such as a flag of the Republic of Sonora, a diorama of the first humans in these lands, pictures of Pancho Villa etc. IF you are a history buff and have 45 minutes..

We hired a guide to take us around La Paz, our tour included the Museum. I was very impressed with the exhibits which explained the history of La Paz and all of Baja CA. Very informative.

The museum does a great job of bringing the history of Baja to life. Had a great afternoon there. The displays are in English and Spanish with prehistory as well as post Spanish occupation.
