Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Small city, big town, well executed plan to be NON -CABO - no glitz, LOW touristy quotient (a good thing) be mellow, polite and kind and keep this place groovy, affordable and classy in a conscientious way. The maritime education, awareness and preservation is great. Keep the 'wal-mart' stuff at bay. Come here to enjoy and share with the locals, lay low, tip nicely, and try a bit of Spanish out of regard and respect. Dine out in the open at some small basic joints, some midrange places and a couple of chic affairs. LOVE this town. ! Very affordable. NOT like Cancun. THIS is off the radar Mexico. I come here yearly,

In our earlier years here, we only saw that small part of the Malecon that was near whatever restaurant we happened to chose that day, watch a sunrise from the Marina, etc. Ten years ago, we decided to walk to the Oasis (south end) for dinner with our fishing club. The City works hard to keep the Malecon clean and inviting. A cross section of townspeople use it for exercise, wedding pictures, family gatherings, romantic meetings, and on and on. What I like most is that everyone’s friendliness jumps a couple notches on the Malecon. It’s fun to see the new businesses and the ones you normally only see from their dining areas, the changes that have happened since your last visit and the signs of things to come. But, everyone says “hello” in their own way when they’re walking the Malecon! Of course, for most, it’s the Bay view, with Carmen and Coronado just offshore, that always dominates and becomes the memory of Loreto whether local or visitors. Next time you visit the Malecon, take some time to look in all directions, as well as up and down. It will change your prospective and probably cause you to add a “full” walk along the Loreto Malecon, sooner than you think!

I would visit this place any time. Much better than La Paz!! Very clean and touristy with so much history. Nice people and very relaxing quiet city on an isolated type of beach. The city is a great place to visit with some beautiful churches and missions with so much Mexican culture here. We could not believe how well the city was kept up and taken care of for some many years. Really cool place to visit.

This is such a beautiful walk. There were not many people and the areas around is not touristy at all. I suppose in 10 years all the little houses will be bought out and high rise hotels will be built - so enjoy it now. I felt very safe walking everywhere and down little roads. If you turn left from the port and walk about 10 minutes, you get to the main road with all the restaurants and attractions. A totally laid back atmosphere with friendly people.

Beautiful area to walk and take photos. Several statues and great views of the mountains, Sea of Cortez and shoreline.

It is especially nice in morning and evening light.

What a beautiful area of Baja.

Short Malecon that is well maintained and safe. Great view of the Sea of Cortez. Be sure to walk out to the end of the pier and sit a bit and watch the sea birds. Loved the pelicans.

Great place for a stroll, first thing in the morning, any time of the day and certainly the evening. Two things - there are a lot of dogs in Loreto and not a lot of discipline about cleaning up after them. Beware. Also, there is a sewer drain at the end of Benito Juarez, right at the Malecon, that will have your attention depending on wind direction that day. We REALLY like Loreto.

The malecon structure is decent for walking along and sitting by the water. It's in generally good repair and reasonably clean. It's surprising though how few business operate along the waterfront. There are few places to stop for coffee or a beer, for example. It's rather dull as waterfronts go.

Loreto continues to be a very clean and simple town. Since it became “pueblo magico” it is really a magical and small little town. The malecon has great views of the ocean, birds and a lot of nearby places to eat

We arrived here on tenders from our small cruise ship. The Malecon is long and wide with a picturesque marina and good views of the sea, pelicans and other birds. There are restaurants and bars across the street. From here it is an easy walk into the town plaza where you will find shops, venders and more restaurants
