Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The historical items, artifacts, and other displays are laid out in an amateurish way, and with little explanation. Could be made much more interesting.

In a town that has more than its share of ex-pats (i.e. immigrants in American parlance) and gussied-up charm, this is an authentic Mexican cultural center. Pause to examine the murals that celebrate Mexico's revolutionary past and physical and intellectual culture. This place is the heart of intellectual life in Todos Santos with a library, a lecture hall, a pleasant courtyard and the aforementioned murals. Some of them are very worn and would benefit from restoration, but the content is historic and full of spirit. You can get an idea, looking at the worn ones, of how the fresco process takes place. Look beyond your own ethnocentric expectations and appreciate the soulfulness of this place. It's free.

I was a little bit disappointed as I would expect more of a museum in "el pueblo magico". It was quite dusty and the displays shown have been a little chaotic

A huge space dedicated to ... well ... dust & crooked photos. We wandered through the various rooms and it seemed like it was an old garage sale. Nothing was for sale -- it was just old stuff that it seemed no one wanted. We read some of the stories under the photos and tried to see the artifacts through the dingy, dusty glass to no avail. It felt weird and out-of-place. We expected something more and were sad that it was so disappointing.

No fee to look around. Lots of pictures of people who have lived in Todos. I was fascinated, but I enjoy that kind of thing. They've re-created an adobe house, complete with chickens and hens.

We enjoyed learning about the town's settlers and early development; the photo collection of community leaders was very special, the mural was a great example of public art

Nice little museum that is quite small and has a couple of typical native houses out behind to illustrate the way of life.

It might be an interesting collection of the area's history, but it was difficult to make meaning out of it. The best part was the murals.

So we kind of stumbled across this place when we were shopping in Todos Santos. I read one review that says it's embarrassing and dilapidated. I guess it's all about perspective because we found it quite charming. Yes, it's dusty, some windows are broken and it's not terribly well organized but for us that just added to the authenticity of what Todos Santos is, "Puebla Magica". There are some amazing old photos and old artifacts and a little "shack" in the back that is apparently an original house of how people lived back then. I found it incredibly interesting. There is also a lovely courtyard that's worth seeing all on it's own. Do be careful though, as there are a lot of rusty artifacts strewn around and some paths aren't level. Probably not a good place for small children but definitely worth a stop!

Dusty, old photos presented in collage form! Dilapidated representations. Bug ridden, unsafe paths, strewn artifacts! You don't see this kind of display of Mexican history in comparable mainland towns. Where is the money to update this facility?
